Hello and welcome.

My name is Kareena Khalila and I am here to support you in forming a deeper connection to your body,

Your mind and your soul through your breath.

Today I have decided to share an answer to a question that I keep getting asked by my clients.

As you know I take my clients through breathwork sessions often they ask me,

Hey what's my intuition?

What does that mean?

And even clients or people who have come through my trainings or any of my offerings all of them have a very different view over what their intuition is.

However I really like to create an idea for people as to what it is.

I don't know about you but for me the different voices and I call them voices on purpose like the different voices that I hear inside of my head often sound really similar.

So how do I differentiate one voice perhaps that's a voice of fear from the voice of my intuition.

So I'm just going to start with a disclaimer because I think this is really important.

I refer to the voices inside of my head as all the different thoughts that I hear.

I hear my thoughts but everybody's a little bit different.

Some people see their thoughts,

Some people can see them written,

Some people can just visualize and for some people it's just a feeling.

So you might resonate with one or all of those or perhaps none of them at all in which case please pop it in the chat I would love to hear or in the comments of this a little audio because I would love to hear what your experience is.

So what I've noticed is that when I am listening to my thoughts and listening to all the different voices inside of my head it's been a really powerful practice for me to discern or learn to discern which voice is which and I think the most illuminating uncovering or discovery that I had within myself was when I was working on my intuition and realizing that I'd had a voice of intuition my whole life that was you know ushering me this way and that way and often those ways didn't make a whole lot of sense but I was often guided by a little voice inside of me that just knew that just knew that things weren't quite right or just knew that I shouldn't be there or just knew that that was a pathway that I needed to take even though that pathway is not necessarily what people would do normally or it might be an illogical choice let's say I know that that was definitely true from my dad's perspective so I'm gonna share a little bit about my my past and my history just so that you kind of get an idea of what what I'm referring to I was born in Australia I am a Pisces Sun Capricorn Moon and Sagittarius rising and I have always been really sensitive and really intuitive and it was something that really was sort of frowned upon in my family because it was you know not overly understood I had Catholic upbringing where those kinds of skills are really not harbored or honed and so I was kind of taught that my natural ability to sense and to feel and to be really sensitive I was taught that it wasn't safe or that it wasn't okay to be that way so when I went through my great awakening back in somewhere between 2010 and 2014 because I think it was that whole time somewhere in there I had this little voice inside of my head that was like saying this is all wrong you shouldn't be here this is all wrong you shouldn't be here and yet I was you know 29 I had all of the things I had the partner and house and the car and the job and I was looking at a set up life and yet I was miserable I was absolutely dead inside and I was drinking a lot and trying to get out of you know abusing drugs and an abusive relationship and it was it was so it was probably one of the lowest points in my life however that voice got louder and louder and louder until in 2015 sorry 2013 I left the relationship in 2015 I decided to leave my job it was a huge transition and it was from then that I was like what is this voice and I knew like you know by the way voices are thoughts that's the way that I sort of express them and I was like what is this voice and somewhere in in all of that I noticed that my fear or the sound of the voice of my fear was really similar to the sound of this voice that was you know ushering me to do things that were outside of what I deemed to be normal and what my family told me I should be doing at that age and so on so listening or learning to listen to my intuition really started when I when I began breathing and started doing breath work and it was in my breath work practices that my the voice of my intuition just got louder and louder and allowed out and also in there somewhere I also went deaf I lost 50% of my hearing in both of my ears from a hereditary disease called otosclerosis we don't know where it comes from it is an anomaly because neither of my parents have hearing loss nor do my grandparents and here I am with this really strange hearing loss that sort of happened around 2013 in this sort of time of great change and I believe that it was my opportunity to stop listening to the outside world and start to listen inside to what what's going on inside of myself so while some would say hearing loss would probably be not a good thing and of course you know I'm not talking about everybody's experience when I say it probably has been one of the greatest blessings of my life because it's taught me to hear not just myself but also other people and really listen to what other people have to say so back to the intuition let's try something together I'm gonna ask you a question and I want you to listen to your own internal response when I ask do you want pizza or salad for dinner what's your answer life is all about choice so what will usually happen is the intuition will come in first with what it thinks you should be having and then you'll go but and the mind will enter the mind's job is to weigh up the options and this is where really interestingly we override our intuition because of logic in my own experience what I realized was when my intuition speaks it's often the first thing it's like the first thing that I think especially when I'm posed with a question so if I'm posed with a question would you prefer tonight to eat pizza or salad it's the first thing and just then it was salad because I've eaten my fair share of pizza recently so my body is craving salad and yet if I was to ask myself that question again and wait then usually what will happen is I'll hear the word but what about the pizza it's so tasty and it's yummy and it's amazing because it's like pizza is my favorite food so I'm gonna take every opportunity that I can to eat the pizza but it's not really coming from a place of what my body needs or a place of what's gonna be good for me in the long run I will say that sometimes pizza is exactly what you need and other times pizza is not what you need and so it's all about and you know I'm gonna say this pizza and salad are just an example it's another way of sort of giving you two options because life is all about choice and most of the time we're choosing based on what we have experienced in the past what we know works what we know doesn't work we usually we are creating a buffer zone around ourselves from experiencing the fullness of life because we're so busy creating the same thing to happen over and over and over and over again but that's usually coming from the mind and not from the intuition the intuitions job is I believe it's the soul's voice and it's the soul guiding the soul you know propelling the soul fearlessly wanting us to sort of step into our true nature our true self it's wanting us to step into wholeness and it's wanting us to realize that the boundaries we've created for ourselves that are woven in fear and in what we know works and what we know doesn't work even though those habits and behaviors can often be quite detrimental to our future and you know limiting our intuition is here to guide us beyond that because we are greater than the programs and the structures of our mind we're we're here to overcome those structures I believe we are here to overcome those structures in order for us to really step into the truth of who we really are I also truly believe that we have all come here for a great life a full substantial joyous loving you know with infinite possibilities and all different kinds of realities as long as we are willing to go in and do the work and uncover the belief systems and programs of our mind that are limited limiting our experience of having that reality I will also say that more often than not our fear is helping us to remain stuck in those in those belief systems as I said before and so when we're operating are from subconscious mind those fear structures are going to keep us bound to what we know and what we know has that we've done before oftentimes we are afraid to step out of what we know and listening to the intuition I believe is an opportunity for us to see a potential reality outside of what we are programmed by by our subconscious thinking so in summary if you can start to listen to your intuition simply by asking yourself do I want this or that in any moment do I want to take a break right now or do I want to keep going it's a really good example for people who are working or if you are driving home do I want to take this road or that road and just listening to what the intuition has to say and you can ask it in any single moment so go ahead and give yourself a week's worth of this practice when you're offered a choice take a moment to really sit down with the choice and think about like ask yourself the question and then listen to the response the first thing and then the but what if blah blah blah usually it's the first actually 99.

99999% of the time it's the first thing and usually that's a thing that is going to require courage or bravery to to accomplish and to get done so good luck my name is Karina Khalila I hope you enjoyed this podcast mini podcast on how to illuminate your intuition if you've got any comments or questions please pop them in the comment section sending you all so much love bye for now

My intuition is a knowing. Likely akin to a voice moreso than a vision.
