With each breath,
Just noticing the inhalation and exhalation,
The flow of the air through the nostrils and then the exhalation from the mouth,
And upon completion of those three breaths,
I invite you to just notice the breath however it appears,
A gentle awareness of the rise and fall of your shoulders,
Perhaps noticing the breath at the sub-naval region.
Take a moment to notice the support of the ground below you,
Either by noticing the weight and the support below the soles of your feet,
Or from the shifting of your hips and pelvis on the seat itself,
Finding your center,
And after finding that center,
Releasing the hold of the body and allowing the support to take that weight as you shift your awareness back to the breath.
Now let's bring to mind an intention.
Here we define intention as how we show up for the world,
Our way of being,
And this can be an intention for today,
Or if you choose,
It can be an intention for how you see yourself approaching this year.
Is there something to let go of in order to be in this intention?
Again,
Notice how intention is a way of being,
A way of showing up for the world.
So as we explore our intention,
You can also explore what your underlying motivation is,
Your why.
Now gently holding on to that motivation,
Your why,
And noticing the intention,
The how you show up,
Letting go of any obstacles in the way,
Take a moment to set an aspiration.
And this can be a wish for the future,
It can be framed in the form of a statement or declaration or a commitment,
And see yourself in that commitment,
In that aspiration.
Take a moment to let go of any visualization of the future,
Releasing yourself of the motivation,
Intention,
And aspiration,
Allowing yourself to rest in open awareness,
Clearing the mind,
Returning to your breath,
And noticing again your feet in the ground below you.
And when you hear the bell,
Take a moment to feel the breath again before returning to your day.
