Now here's something that you might not know.
Science has proven that we actually inherit trauma from our ancestors.
The trauma gets encoded into our DNA and this is why learning to meditate when you're black or you're gay or you're poor or you're trans or you're anybody who's been marginalized or oppressed is revolutionary.
If you meditate when you've been marginalized or when your people have been oppressed you'll learn to start to break free from all the chains that have kept you in your place and kept your family and your people in their place for all these years.
The fact that we even have the opportunity to worry about things like mental health and manifesting and life purpose is a privilege that we cannot take for granted.
One of my good friends Sheila she once said to me we're the first generation of healers and I want to take that a step further and say that we're the first generation with the chance to break these cycles.
Meditation is just step one because it gives you the awareness that you need to take the most important step which is action.
If enough of us take action that's where the revolution begins.
This is our time to wake up.
This is our time to rise and if you're with me I invite you to just hold your hands open in front of you for a second with your palms facing up and you can just relax your elbows by your side and if you're comfortable with it close your eyes for just a moment.
Drop in.
I know it can be scary sometimes but drop in.
And I want you to take a moment right here to just visualize all the people that came before you.
People who made it possible for you to be who you are today.
The people who made your freedom possible and I know there's more freedom that we all want and desire and deserve but for the people who fought for you to be where you are now feel it.
Just trust whatever comes up and with your palms face up imagining you're joining hands with all the people that came before you.
I'd like you to repeat after me.
We are the revolution.
We are the revolution.
We together.
We are the revolution.
Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.
Just feel that.
If you're ready I invite you to open your eyes.
Remember we,
All of us together,
We are the revolution.
