Perfectionism.
Perfectionism fools us into prioritizing acceptance and validation from others over taking action toward our purpose and our calling.
But I need you to know this.
You do not need to be perfect to be deserving of the things you really want in your life.
You are worthy.
Exactly as you are.
Right now.
The best way to move beyond your perfectionism is to take action.
And if there's one thing I've learned,
It's that done is better than perfect because done means that you can get feedback from what you do and feedback is the only way that we can grow.
So if you're ready to make a move.
This practice will help you.
We'll start our practice with a breathing technique that I call the shut the fuck up breath.
And we're using this practice in particular because we're telling all those voices in our head of perfectionism that are telling us that we're not enough to shut the fuck up.
And the practice is really simple.
All you're going to do is inhale for six counts and then exhale for as long as possible making a long.
Shhh.
Sound like you're telling someone to be quiet and we'll repeat this three times together.
But if your timing is a little bit different than mine,
That's totally fine.
If you finish early,
Just close your eyes,
Feel the effects of the breathing practice and breathe normally until we start the cycle again.
So you'll want to try to make your shh sounds go for about 20 to 30 seconds if you can.
If you're ready.
Let's begin by aligning our breaths,
And I'd like you to exhale everything out of your system through your nose.
123 exhale everything out through the nose.
And now slowly on my count inhale deeply for 123456 hold it just for a second.
And now when you exhale make a long sound on my count 123 exhale long sound.
And now to reset take a deep breath in and a normal deep breath out.
And let's go again inhale for 123456 hold it for a second.
Taking a little bit more air if you can.
And now on my count exhale as long as you can making that sound 123 exhale.
Keep going.
Beautiful.
Now let's take a cleansing breath in together inhale through the nose.
Exhale through the mouth.
Last one inhale 123456 taking a little bit more air and hold the breath just for a moment.
And now your slowest exhale yet 123 keep going.
And now just breathe normally.
I invite you to close your eyes if you haven't naturally done so already.
And place both hands over your core just above your navel.
Feeling into this powerful energetic center of your body.
The core is the center of our power and our confidence.
And with your hands over this point I want you to notice what you feel energetically in this space.
Does it feel open or tight?
Maybe you see a color or an image or a memory as you feel into your center.
Maybe you feel an emotion there's no right or wrong way to do this just notice what arises for you.
And now we welcome our mantra.
I am worthy as I am right now.
I am worthy as I am right now.
I am worthy as I am right now.
Right now.
I want you to repeat those words with me either silently in your mind or with a whisper whatever you prefer.
Repeat them with me.
I am worthy as I am right now.
I am worthy as I am right now.
I am worthy as I am right now.
Now you're going to keep repeating this mantra and I want you to just imagine that you're sending the energy of the mantra from your hands that are over your core.
And injecting it straight into your core injecting the energy of this mantra straight into your center.
Let's do it together.
I am worthy as I am right now.
Feel it.
I am worthy as I am right now.
I am worthy as I am right now.
I want you to just keep repeating those words on your own now either silently or with a whisper and in your own way.
Whatever comes up for you there's really no right or wrong way to do this at all.
Just imagine injecting the power and the energy of this mantra into your being.
I am worthy as I am right now.
Continue on your own at your own pace.
I am worthy as I am right now.
Whatever it is that you're stopping yourself from I want you to know you are worthy.
You are worthy.
This is your time.
This is your time.
It's time.
Take a deep breath in.
And a deep breath out.
And if you're ready you can open your eyes.
I just want you to remember that all of us deal with this,
Even me.
All the time actually.
And so I want you to know that you are not alone.
But the way through the challenge of perfectionism is not more thinking and refining and fixing.
It's taking action.
And so what I'd like you to do is right now commit to one step that you can take.
A step that you can really commit to taking that will move you forward.
So take a moment right now and think about what that will be for you.
And a baby step counts.

Just make a move.
