Hi,
This is Junie Boucher and today's meditation is called From Grumpy to Grateful.
So this is a perfect meditation for when you feel negative,
Irritated,
A little down and you just want to raise the frequency,
The vibration of your thoughts so that you can continue to move forward and attract positive things to you.
So essentially all we're going to be doing today is figuring out what you're grateful for,
Finding things to be grateful for.
And as a reminder,
These don't have to be quote unquote good things.
You can be grateful for the challenges that have presented themselves to you.
You can be grateful for irritations which are pointing out that which you need to adjust or perhaps focus on in yourself.
In 2015,
A scientific study found that practicing gratitude four times a week for three weeks led to reduced stress,
Less depression and increased happiness.
And you may notice at the end of this meditation how quickly sitting in gratitude can turn you around.
So let's get started.
Find a comfortable position where you won't be disturbed for the next 10 minutes or so.
Take any intuitive movements that you may need just to get all those wiggles out.
You might want to roll your shoulders,
Turn your head from side to side.
When you're ready,
Just gently close your eyes.
There's nothing that you need to do right now.
Know where you need to be.
So call yourself home to the present moment.
And let's just do a quick check in.
Where are you right now?
Where is your mindset?
What is your emotional frequency?
Are you feeling disturbed in some way?
I invite you to imagine a bubble forming around you.
You can breathe in and out,
But it's a barrier between you and anything that may be disturbing or bothering you at this moment,
Allowing you the space to just be.
And now let's take a couple deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth.
Just allowing everything to start slowing down a little bit.
And let's just take one more deep breath in through the nose and out through the mouth.
So today's gratitude practice is also going to be a journey through the chakras or the energy centers of the body.
And each of these energy centers houses a certain element of our existence and experience.
So starting at the base or root chakra,
Which is located at the tailbone or the end of the coccyx,
Think of everything that you are grateful for regarding your foundational needs,
Your home,
The food that's on the table,
A feeling of safety in this very moment.
Don't overthink these things.
Just allow them to flow.
And as we move up to the second chakra or the sacral chakra,
Which is located just a couple inches below your belly button.
This is the chakra of creativity,
Femininity,
Sensuality.
Are you grateful for the way the fabric of your clothes touches your skin?
For your ability to paint or sing or write or your desire to do any of those things?
Do you have a child?
And if your mind wanders,
That's okay.
There's no need to worry or be discouraged in any way.
Just gently drift back to the list of gratitude,
To the breath.
Now as we move into the next energy center,
The solar plexus,
Which is just a couple inches below the rib cage.
This is your center of power.
What lights you up?
What is your dream ambition?
What are you grateful for?
What makes you radiate?
Now we'll move into the heart,
Perhaps one of the easiest places to find gratitude.
Who do you love?
What do you love?
Is it a child?
A pet?
A friend?
The seeing a redwood tree.
Breathe life into your heart.
Let's now move into the throat chakra,
Known as the center of communication.
Are you grateful for the ability to speak your mind?
Are you grateful for a situation in which you could not speak your mind,
That you see an opportunity to grow,
To find your power,
To find your words?
Did someone say something to you that touched your heart?
Now we'll move into the third eye chakra.
This is the seat of intuition.
What are you grateful for here?
What is your gut instinct telling you?
Where has your intuition served you well?
In regards to any situations that may have upset you or led you to this meditation,
What is the lesson that it's trying to teach you?
What is at the root of this irritation?
Is it possible that the very thing,
Person or quality that is disturbing you may be something that disturbs you in yourself?
What mud is being dredged up?
And now let's move into the crown chakra at the top of the head.
If you did discover an emotion or a need in the previous chakra that could use some nurturing and nourishment,
Allow that now.
The crown chakra is a chakra of spiritual connection and transformation.
Send love to this need.
Let that ego voice know that it's okay to let go.
I invite you to bring your awareness back to your breath again.
And as we inhale,
Imagine that you are bringing in pure light,
Love,
Gratitude for any and all things.
Feel the gratitude filling the bubble of protection around you and magnifying it within each and every one of your cells,
Energizing you,
Filling you with positivity and high vibration.
Let it go.
And to bring some awareness back into your body.
Allow that bubble to gently dissolve and radiate this powerful positivity into the world,
Knowing that it has already fused itself into each and every one of your cells and every one of your energy centers and will empower you through the rest of your day.
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
Take any additional movements that you may need to just start waking back up the body.
And let's do a final check in before we open our eyes.
Have you noticed any kind of a shift?
If you haven't,
That is okay too.
Just being a witness is enough.
When you're ready,
Just flutter open your eyelids.
Let's take one last long slow deep breath in together through the nose and letting that go.
I hope that brought you a little bit of relief and that you have a beautiful rest of your day.
Thank you for meditating with me and I am wishing you well.
Bye.
Welcome back.
