In the casual conversation last weekend,

Sunim explained logically how it made sense to accelerate the grieving process to relieve suffering.

I understand the usefulness of this idea,

But what are the steps to actually implement this advice?

How can meditation help?

So what I said last week doesn't have a direct impact on meditation,

Per se.

I think it's important for us to understand that meditation is not just a form of meditation.

Meditation is not just a form of meditation.

Meditation is a form of So what I said last week doesn't have a direct impact on meditation,

Per se.

So we experience two different types of ignorance.

So we have ignorance that lies in our consciousness,

Basically an intellectual ignorance,

A lack of knowledge.

Then we also have ignorance that governs our subconscious,

Something that happens without us knowing.

So what I said last week was about breaking down the ignorance in the consciousness.

However,

Meditation is all about breaking down the walls of ignorance in your subconscious.

So the main way to break down the wall of ignorance in the consciousness is to listen to an insight,

A piece of insight and let that dawn on your consciousness and breaking down.

It's not a matter of training or practice or discipline.

The way to break down the wall of ignorance in the consciousness is to focus on your breath instead of being drawn to it when you think of your father's death.

If you repeat this process,

Even if you think of your father's death later on,

You won't be able to feel the sadness.

If you are to tackle this issue from the subconscious during meditation,

It's all about being able to focus and maintain the focus on your breath despite the thoughts of your father's passing arising.

And if you're able to maintain this focus through repeated thoughts and memories of your dad passing and kind of repeat this throughout and practice it,

Eventually you get to the stage where you're not emotionally affected and your trauma is healed.

So what I tried to address last week with that Dharma talk was all about breaking down the ignorance that lived in your consciousness.
