Welcome,
It's Julie.
Please get into a comfortable seated position.
Make sure your spine is tall,
Hands at ease and slowly close the eyes.
Reentering the busy world,
We may feel overwhelmed because we now have to adapt to a new way of being.
Having stepped away for a time through the collective lockdown,
We can clearly see the challenges of our day to day lives.
Such as being in traffic,
Getting to work on time or school,
Managing family schedules and having many more social interactions.
All of this can leave us feeling overstimulated and exhausted,
All making this transition back into the world difficult.
There's no right or wrong way to handle reentry.
If we can communicate our personal needs,
Go at our own pace,
We can then have a much better day to day experience.
Let's take three deep breaths here.
By focusing on the breath,
We are able to ground ourselves,
Settle our bodies,
Let go of any noise in the outer world.
And with awareness,
Bring ourselves into the present moment with each breath.
We will now be adding in the use of the mantra,
I am now.
This phrase comes from the Sanskrit mantra,
Sum Pratihum.
This translates to I am present or I am now.
This mantra can help us live in the present moment and remember that right now is all that we ever have.
Start to repeat,
I am now in the mind over and over.
Slowly sinking in the rhythm of your breath.
On the inhale,
Repeat,
I am.
On the exhale,
Repeat now.
I am now.
Just continue this on at your own pace over and over until you hear my voice.
I am now.
I am now.
If you notice your mind start to wander,
Know that this is perfectly normal.
When you are aware that you are thinking,
Just bring yourself back to the mantra.
I am now in the mind.
I am now.
I am now.
I am now.
I am now.
I am now.
You can now let go of the mantra.
Take a moment to notice how you feel.
Perhaps you feel more connected to the here and now.
Start to become aware of any noises around you.
Slowly open your eyes,
Perhaps stretch and smile.
May you always be present on your journey.
