Love The Body You're In
This guided meditation will help you to start loving the body you live in. We often spend so much time shaming and putting down aspects of our body wasting our precious energy on negative self-talk. Start changing your inner dialogue and begin to love your body right now, exactly as it is, no matter what you're feeling or dealing with. You will be guided in the sacred practice of releasing hurt, embracing the gifts of your body, finding deep acceptance and coming home to your body temple. Learn to start loving all of who you really are, today. This meditation pairs well with Julie's audio course on Insight Timer, Hungry For More: Overcome Food Addiction.

Hello,
Dear soul.
I am so honored to be with you today,
As together we work on loving the body that you're in.
We so often say negative,
Mean,
Even hateful things to ourselves about our bodies,
When really our bodies are these sacred temples,
These beautiful homes that house our soul,
That house the essence of who you are.
And today we are going to focus and dive into how to love your body right now.
So I invite you to either find a comfortable place to sit with lovely support for your spine,
Or if laying down is more comfortable and is what you'd prefer,
Just find a space for you to honor you fully,
To be present,
To be able to pause and come home to who you really are.
And let's begin taking a full,
Deep,
Embodied breath,
Inhaling,
Allowing your belly to expand with air like a balloon,
And exhaling,
Allowing your belly to deflate like a balloon.
And I'll allow you to just breathe at your pace,
At the tempo that feels comfortable for you,
And take a few moments to ground yourself,
To breathe,
To thank yourself for the time and space to honor you and your body temple.
And if it's comfortable for you,
I invite you to put one hand on your heart,
Notice your heartbeat,
Notice that life force that you can feel right below your hand and your skin,
Through your chest,
And perhaps the other hand can go on your belly.
One thing I know,
Sometimes for me a trigger is putting my hand on my belly,
As I've spent years shaming,
Putting down,
Being negative,
Saying mean things to my belly,
Because of the way it looked,
The way that I wanted it to be,
Or didn't live up to my expectations.
And so even this act of putting your hand on your belly can be an act of love,
An act of forgiveness.
And it's okay if it's a trigger,
And it's okay if you're not comfortable.
Perhaps you could start by just touching it and imagining giving a little love and then putting your hand down.
Just know wherever you are is perfectly okay.
As you inhale and exhale,
Feeling connected to your heart,
To your whole body.
We're going to start by grounding ourself.
First,
I'm going to invite you to imagine the top of your head opens ever so slightly.
From above and all around you,
A healing,
Effervescent,
Beautiful,
Sparkling,
Translucent white light comes down from the top of your head and swirls all throughout your face,
Neck,
Shoulders,
Chest,
Abdomen,
Hips,
Legs,
Ankles,
And feet.
And I want you to imagine that this light is swirling through your body,
And it's adding love.
It's adding nourishment.
It's giving you a sense of well-being wherever it is needed.
In any thoughts,
Anywhere that you feel shame or not good enough,
Frustration,
Tension,
Or stress.
Perhaps you can picture that energy coming out of your feet,
Recycling back into the earth,
Letting Mother Earth take that energy back.
White,
Translucent,
Beautiful,
Sparkling light at the top of your head comes in,
Pours through your body,
Through your cells.
And anything that is not loving or honoring of your body and who you are,
Allow that to come out of your feet.
Maybe it changes color.
Maybe it's just that light that comes out of your feet and is recycled back into the earth.
And just take a few moments right now to feel that energy swirl through your body.
Beautiful.
Good work doing that,
Connecting to who you are.
For many of us,
We've spent years,
Maybe even a lifetime,
Saying things to ourselves about our bodies that we would never say to another human being.
And I believe that the words that we speak,
The way that we speak to ourselves,
The way that we treat ourselves,
Affects our emotional state,
Our well-being,
Our vitality,
Our health,
And what is manifested on the outside.
What I have learned through my own struggles with body image,
Feeling not good enough,
Loathing parts of my body,
What I've learned through my journey of recovery is that love is the way.
Love is the answer.
And sometimes it can feel hard to love certain parts of ourselves,
Especially the parts that we've felt frustrated by or upset with,
Or maybe even let down by a certain aspect of our body,
Be it through illness or struggles with weight,
Eating,
Food,
Movement,
Ailments.
Today,
We are going to focus on adding love,
The elixir,
The healing ointment for all areas that need healing,
That need to be uplifted and empowered.
And I'm going to invite you right now to choose one area of your body that you want to focus on and just give your undivided attention,
Your heart,
Your love,
Your devotion,
Your gratitude,
Maybe even forgiveness too.
Maybe it's your belly that would be mine.
Maybe it's your hands.
Maybe it's your feet that have taken you from every point in your life.
Maybe it's your eyes that have allowed you to see the world since day one.
Maybe it's your whole body in itself.
Maybe it's the blood running through your body,
The life force that's allowed you to experience every moment.
I invite you to choose one area that speaks to you.
There is no right or wrong.
Picture that area.
Perhaps even put your hand there if possible.
Or envision giving that same divine white light that we started this meditation with,
Allowing that light to go to that body part or that aspect of your body temple.
And I invite you to give love in whatever way you envision and just breathe into that area and offer your words of thanks,
Appreciation,
And gratitude.
Take a few moments now to shine your love and light right there.
Notice how it feels to pause,
Dear one,
And to shine your love from within on your body.
Notice how it feels to pause,
Dear one,
And to shine your love from within on yourself.
If you chose to do this to all aspects of your body,
If you chose to give love every day to you,
I invite you to come back to this meditation any time,
Any moment that you would like to honor and love any aspect of your body.
Come back as many times as you want and need to reconnect to who you really are,
Which is a divine,
Sacred,
Beautiful,
Whole,
Soul,
Person,
Incredible human being born with potential to thrive,
To enjoy life,
Be abundant,
And to love your body.
No matter what challenges you might have right now in the body that you live in,
The most important aspect for any change,
For any kind of movement in your life in a positive direction is to learn to love even one small aspect of your body right now.
Because from there,
My friend,
The momentum will build.
You will start to realize and feel how good it is to love and honor your body,
And from there you will be able to have a deep compassion and love for all of your body that you live in.
And just know if tears came up,
If there's any tension,
Any stress,
That is okay.
And you can give love to that area as well,
Wherever that might show up.
This is a process.
It is a journey.
And I can tell you,
Dear friend,
That when you choose to show up to love the body you live in,
You will have more love for yourself,
For others,
And the world than you can imagine.
Enjoy these moments of silence to thank your body for allowing you to be here right now and to send love to any place that you feel is calling for more connection.
I'm honored to have been here with you today.
Let us all love the body that we are in,
And together let's spread our love in this world.
Thank you.

Really nice. When I observe the self hate and criticism, for myself, like you said, I too have been so mean to me. Filling my mind with negative thoughts, and accepting it as normal?! I practice today and everyday to change this habit, and to appreciate me. Thank you so much. I see a shift in my behaviour, for the better โ๐ป
