Good morning.
Let's start the day with a simple check-in to get grounded,
Set our intentions,
And have a good day.
Start by getting comfortable.
If you've just woken up,
Sitting upright might help you shift from sleepiness to wakefulness.
Take a couple of nice deep breaths,
And if you like,
Stretch your arms up over your head,
Opening your chest and lungs to help you waken further.
When you're ready,
Place your hands somewhere that feels right.
On the lap with the palms turned up will gently invite energy into your body.
If there is a part of your body that is hurting or needing a little extra attention this morning,
You could place your hands there in a gesture of gentle attention and self-love.
Now let's become aware of the earth beneath us,
The land that we are on.
Acknowledge and remember your relationship to this land,
This particular part of the world.
Notice the room that you are in,
The mood or the feeling of this place.
Now let's place the awareness at the top of the head.
Gently draw that awareness down through your body,
Simply noticing the sensations,
Emotions,
Tension,
Space,
Maybe even images that arise when you focus on each part of your body.
We'll do our best to simply observe what's happening without needing to judge,
Fix,
Or change anything.
I'll guide you,
But feel free to go at your own pace.
Noticing your head,
Your jaw,
Your shoulders and arms,
Your chest,
Your heart area,
And your upper back,
Your stomach,
Solar plexus and mid-back,
Your lower belly,
Pelvis and lower back,
Your hips,
Your legs,
All the way down to your feet,
Your connection with the ground.
Now having checked in with these various parts of your body,
Take a moment to notice if there's anything your body is trying to communicate with you right now.
There may be something that it wants or needs from you today,
Some specific way that you can take care of your body or your spirit as you go through your day.
You may get an answer,
You may not.
See if you can take a few moments to listen.
Let's invite any other intentions that you might have for your day today.
Is there anything you want to focus on in particular?
What kind of attitude do you want to have with you as you walk through your day today?
Let's take a moment to think through what that might be.
When this feels complete for you,
Take a few more deep breaths.
