Hello and welcome to this meditation for self-compassion.
Compassion is defined as to suffer with.
Self-compassion asks us to respond to our own challenges with kindness.
It invites us to offer comfort to ourselves just as we would to a close friend or someone we love.
This meditation is a peace offering of warmth,
Love and understanding to ourselves in order to promote true healing.
When we respond to our own suffering with kindness,
It encourages a life of joy and contentment.
In this meditation,
You will silently repeat the mantra,
Om Karuna Namah.
Om is the sound of the universe.
The universal vibration.
Karuna means compassion that recognizes our absolute connection to everyone.
Namah is a word of praise that acknowledges this connection.
This mantra helps cultivate compassion and acceptance for yourself and others.
Please take a comfortable seat.
Gently close your eyes or gaze down.
Begin to notice your breath.
Expand your breath.
Make it fuller and more purposeful.
Notice the sweet sensation of your exhale.
We have several minutes of silence for this practice.
When this time is complete,
You will hear a soft chime.
On the exhale,
Silently repeat,
Om Karuna Namah.
Om Karuna Namah.
Om Karuna Namah.
Om Karuna Namah.
Om Karuna Namah.
Om Karuna Namah.
Om Karuna Namah.
Om Karuna Namah.
Om Karuna Namah.
Om Karuna Namah.
Om Karuna Namah.
Om Karuna Namah.
Om Karuna Namah.
Om Karuna Namah.
Om Karuna Namah.
Begin to let the mantra go.
Take a deep breath.
Bring your awareness back to the room you're in.
Wiggle your fingers and your toes.
Take another deep breath in and exhale through an open mouth,
Saying the word,
Ha.
Slowly flutter your eyes open.
I hope this meditation helps you find a day full of loving kindness to yourself and others.
Namaste.
