No matter how we gave birth, the body needs time to rest and heal. Take a few minutes for yourself to breathe and observe how your body is already in the process of healing from your experience. Tap into a white light energy to cultivate that process and rest well.

Welcome to this guided meditation for healing after having a baby.

Whether you gave birth vaginally or through a c-section,

Your body has some healing to do.

This meditation is designed for the immediate postpartum period when you may be spending a lot of time in bed recovering and it's not time yet to do a movement practice.

In this meditation,

We will tap into your body's innate ability to heal and encourage that process with our breath and our intentions.

If you can,

Do this meditation on your own while the baby is sleeping or in someone else's care.

If you'd prefer to do it with baby in your arms or if that's what you need to do today,

That's fine too.

Do what works for you.

If you haven't already,

Please find a comfortable position for your meditation.

I know that might be difficult postpartum,

But laying in a bed may be a really good option,

Perhaps with a pillow behind your head and maybe another under your knees.

You could also be in the fetal position laying on your side or any other shape that feels safest and most comfortable for you.

Go ahead and take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.

Do that a couple of times in through your nose and out through your mouth.

Try to take as deep of a breath as you comfortably can.

Breathe all the way in through your nose and all the way out through your mouth.

No need for any excessive effort,

No need to contract any muscles anywhere.

Just breathe in as much as feels good and breathe out as much as feels good.

Now to the degree that feels comfortable and safe for you,

Notice how you feel in your body.

There might be a lot of sensations happening.

There is certainly a lot of energy as your body processes the experience of giving birth.

Birth is also a deeply intense and emotional experience,

So you may also notice a lot of thoughts and emotions happening.

That's just fine.

Allow those to.

Now imagine a soft white light all around you.

It is a light of healing,

Of cleansing,

Of calm.

It feels like laughing with a friend or getting a hug from someone you love,

Or snuggling into a warm blanket on a cold night before the fire.

It is the most comforting,

Sweetest feeling you could imagine.

You are safe enough to rest right now.

You are safe enough to pause and take a break from everything right now.

Your body is amazing.

Whatever you went through,

You made it here today to this moment where you are actively healing.

As you inhale,

Breathe in this soft,

Sweet white light energy.

Allow it to fill your lungs and then move through your bloodstream into your entire body.

Feel the white light drawing in as you inhale,

And simply relaxing as you exhale.

Let the white light fill you,

Moving to exactly the places that need this gentle,

Loving support.

Simply breathe it all around your body,

Allowing it to move wherever it is you might need it.

You may even feel that this energy is directing itself into certain parts of your body,

Concentrating around the places that shifted,

Changed,

Moved,

Stretched,

Or were otherwise changed during your birth experience.

Your body is innately capable of healing from birth,

No matter what that experience was like for you.

Trust in your body's ability to do this.

Simply rest and breathe deeply,

Allowing this healing to happen on its own terms in its own time in your body.

Take as long as you need here,

Or as long as you can.

If you find yourself drifting off to sleep and it's safe for you and the baby to do that right now,

Please take the rest and sleep.

I wish you good healing on your journey,

And congratulations on the birth of your child.
