This begins with breathing, mindfulness, and body awareness to soothe body and mind. After, we go on a mind adventure to let our worries go. Imagine any worries or fears written or drawn on a bunch of balloons. Let them go and watch as they disappear into the sky along with all your worries.

Find a comfortable position with your body.

Rest your head and let it be nice and heavy.

Soften your face and let your shoulders,

Legs,

And back relax completely.

Let your entire body get so heavy as you let go of any tension or tightness.

If it feels okay for you,

Close your eyes and get as comfortable as possible.

Take in a deep breath as you fill your belly up with air.

Exhale and let it all go.

Big breath in,

Big breath out.

One more.

Inhale as you fill up.

Exhale as you let your body and mind relax.

Please use this time to take good care of yourself.

Imagine holding onto a bunch of big,

Beautiful balloons.

Hold onto the ribbon and look up to see the balloons dancing in the wind.

Notice your feet on the earth as a gentle breeze blows through your hair.

You feel happy and free.

Begin to pull the balloons close to you.

As the balloons get closer,

You see pictures and words of your worries.

You are ready to let these worries go.

On the count of three,

You let all your balloons and worries go.

One,

Two,

Three.

Release,

Let go.

You feel happy to let go of these worries.

The balloons drift up toward the clouds and they keep getting smaller and smaller.

They get so high that you can no longer see them.

As you watch these balloons drift away,

You feel all your worries being carried away by the wind.

Big breath in,

Exhale and let the breath go.

The balloons are all gone along with your worries.

Give yourself a few moments to put any more worries on the balloons and let them float away.

When you hear the sound of the bell,

Bring your awareness back to your breath.

Slowly start to wiggle your fingers and toes.

Make any small movement that feels comfortable for you.

Gently blink your eyes open and come back to this moment with a new sense of peace and calm.

Anytime you feel like your worries are back in your mind or body,

Imagine yourself writing or drawing on a balloon and then let those balloons float away high up in the sky.

I have been using this when my classroom gets too rowdy. It lessens my anxiety levels even if it doesn't lessen theirs.
