A safe place meditation.

So let's begin by settling down and finding posture that is comfortable,

Supportive and sustainable.

Allowing the body to receive support from the chair,

From the floor,

From the earth.

Giving weight up to gravity and beginning to notice the natural flow of the breath.

Inviting a soothing,

Breathing rhythm to emerge.

It's naturally deep and slow.

Feeling being rocked and cradled by the breath.

And feeling the soothing qualities of the breath flowing through the whole body.

And now imagine a place where you can be on your own and feel at ease.

Feel accepted just the way you are and be peacefully alone.

A place where you feel you can come home to.

Which gives you a sense of belonging.

A sense of however I feel.

Whatever goes on inside.

This place accepts me.

It can be a place from memory or fantasy.

Or a mixture of both.

It doesn't need to be a fixed image.

Images often come and go.

Just see what comes up.

So imagine you being in a place you're welcomed.

Either inside or outside.

Maybe it's spacious or a cozy place.

When you look around what do you see?

Close by or in a distance.

Just noticing colors and shapes.

And allowing other senses to be involved.

What can you hear?

Sounds or silence?

T'en que tu es?

Belonging?

Feeling safe?

Welcomed?

Perhaps there is awareness of smells or fragrances?

Awareness of warmth or coolness?

Wind?

Solidness of the earth?

What is there to see,

To smell,

To hear?

To feel?

Even a sense of taste?

How does it feel to be held by a place that accepts you just the way you are?

Including what you might find difficult to accept in yourself.

This place accepts it.

Also difficult feelings.

Also difficult thoughts.

Feeling surrounded by a holding place where you're accepted unconditionally.

And noticing the effects of the images?

What do you notice in the body?

The face?

Chest?

Belly?

Muscles in the hands and the feet?

Being held in a safe place?

And the images can be fleeting?

Different places may come and go?

That's all fine.

That's how our minds work.

And how does it affect your mood,

Your mental state?

Observing your inner landscape and how it responds to being held in a safe place.

Being open to all of the experience as it unfolds.

Including difficult feelings and thoughts.

Imagine a place where you can also be with these feelings.

A place that offers space for joy and sadness.

For anger and frustration.

For fear.

For feelings of unsafety and insecurity.

As it doesn't exclude anything.

It holds us just the way we are.

Including our worries.

Including our fatigue.

Including our unease or discomfort.

And imagine that this place really appreciates that you're here.

That this place enjoys your presence.

That it makes you feel really welcomed.

All of you.

And it lets you know you're precious.

And wishes you the very best.

How does that affect you?

And you may wish to stay with this practice for longer.

Or find a gentle way of saying goodbye to this safe place.

Knowing you can always return to this practice.

Wherever you are.

However you feel.

Imagining a place to come home to again and again.

In whatever form it may reveal itself.
