So sometimes I think we have this opinion that everything's not okay unless everything's perfect.
I know I'm guilty of that sometimes,
And even when I say the word guilty,
It reminds me of that feeling of perfectionism,
Like,
Oh,
See,
If I was really good,
I would be totally fine and not feeling guilty.
This can really start to be an addiction,
The personal growth,
Mental health improvement,
Personal improvement type of thing,
Like,
Well,
I'm just going to,
I'll be okay when I'm there,
But I'm not there yet.
And then something happens in your life.
Maybe it happens to a friend or a loved one.
Maybe someone dies or maybe someone gets sick or maybe someone just has something very life changing happen to them.
Maybe it's positive.
Maybe they find a person of their dreams or maybe they start to recover from a debilitating illness.
But these life changing things,
Whether they're in our own lives or someone else's life,
They are reminders that it's probably all okay and we're probably okay exactly as we are right now.
And I say probably because I want to insert a little bit of uncertainty because this idea of purity or perfection,
Nothing wrong,
Everything right,
Is a fantasy.
And learning the reality of what's true,
Which is that nothing is ever 100 percent perfect.
And nothing is ever 100 percent bad or wrong.
We haven't ever 100 percent failed or 100 percent succeeded.
This is important,
I think,
To moving forward in recognition of the love that really is there for us at all moments that's accessible through our hearts at any moment.
And at least my experience and the experience of what I've been studying in terms of unconditional love,
The experience of people who have the experience of unconditional love,
Even for a moment,
It's just instantaneously there.
It's not something that you have to work towards.
It's just something that all of a sudden happens.
So let's start playing with the idea of it's probably okay.
This is a really short meditation.
And I'm just going to repeat that phrase for about two minutes with you as we concentrate on our hearts and the love that actually is there for us,
Just allowing it to come in,
The unconditional love,
Allowing it to come in as we repeat the phrase.
You could do this meditation as many times as you like.
Here we go.
It's probably okay.
I'm probably okay.
There's probably nothing that needs to change.
It will probably never be perfect.
I will never be perfect.
You will never be perfect.
This is probably a perfectly fine day.
I'm probably lovable just as I am.
I am probably not doing what I said I was going to do.
Things are probably going to change.
This is probably a peaceful moment.
I am a mixed bag.
I probably contain many components that I don't understand or approve of right now.
And I'm probably still lovable.
I can probably feel love in my heart right now without changing anything.
I am probably okay.
Thank you for meditating with me.
