Endometriosis,
Fibroids,
Polyps,
PCOS,
And PID.
I will briefly explain them,
But more importantly,
Offer exercises and meditations to help you strengthen your belief in your reproductive organs,
As well as help relaxing from the stress of any pain or tests as you explore potential issues.
Endometriosis is often a painful disorder in which tissue is similar to the tissue that normally lines the inside of your uterus,
Grows outside your uterus.
Endometriosis most commonly involves your ovaries,
Fallopian tubes,
And the tissue lining your pelvis.
Approximately one-third to one-half of women with endometriosis have difficulty getting pregnant.
Many with mild to moderate endometriosis can still conceive and carry a pregnancy to term.
Symptoms may include pain during your period,
Ovulation,
Or during or after sex.
Other symptoms include headaches,
Back,
Pelvic,
And leg pain,
Bleeding between periods,
As well as heavy or prolonged periods.
Endometriosis is sometimes mistaken for other conditions that can cause pelvic pain,
Such as pelvic inflammatory disease,
PID,
Or ovarian cysts.
When endometriosis involves the ovaries,
Cysts,
Called endometriomas,
May form.
If you have uterine polyps,
You may be able to remove them to become pregnant,
But the data seems inconclusive.
The major difference between fibroids and polyps is the tissue they are made of.
Fibroids are made of muscle cells and connective tissue.
Polyps are made of the tissue that lines the uterus,
Also known as the endometrial tissue.
Both types of growth can cause heavy periods,
Irregular periods,
Or fertility issues.
But fibroids are not,
By definition,
Cancerous.
Uterine polyps have the potential to become cancer,
And you shouldn't wait to get checked out if you have pelvic pain during sex or menstruation.
Fibroids can reduce fertility by changing the shape of the cervix,
Affecting the number of sperm that can enter.
Fibroids can also block fallopian tubes.
PCOS,
Polycystic ovary syndrome,
Is a hormonal disorder with symptoms ranging from infrequent or prolonged irregular periods,
Acne,
Obesity,
Pelvic pain,
Mood changes,
Or excess andrian hormone levels.
The ovaries may fail to release eggs regularly.
Some women with PCOS have cysts on their ovaries,
But not all do.
Pelvic inflammatory disease,
PID,
Is caused by STDs,
Sexually transmitted diseases like gonorrhea and chlamydia.
An IUD,
A birth control device inserted into the uterus,
Or douche products may also cause it.
PID causes pain in the abdomen,
Fever,
Unusual discharge or odor,
Pain and bleeding during sex,
And bleeding between periods.
It can be treated if caught early,
So please get checked out right away if you have any symptoms.
If left untreated,
It can cause scar tissue to form inside and outside of the fallopian tubes,
Tubal blockage,
Ectopic pregnancy,
Infertility,
And long-term pelvic pain.
An ectopic pregnancy is when the fetus develops outside the uterus,
Usually in a fallopian tube.
If you're suffering from any of these conditions,
Here's a meditation for you.
Get into the reclined goddess pose.
Lie on your back.
Bend your knees,
Keeping the soles of your feet on the ground.
Inhale,
And on the exhale,
Lower your knees to the ground to each side,
Opening your pelvic area.
Bring the soles of your feet together.
Don't arch your back.
If you cannot keep your back on the floor,
Insert a cushion or pillow for support.
You may also use a cushion,
Pillow,
Or block under your knees if you have hip tension.
Only proceed with this meditation if you feel you can hold this position for a few minutes.
Use supports to get comfortable in this position,
Opening your pelvic area.
Put your hands on your lower abdomen and breathe diaphragmatically.
Feel your hands move up and down subtly as you breathe.
Practice five rounds of even count breathing.
Breathe in through the nose,
Hold,
And exhale through the nose for the same duration of your choosing.
I'll guide you through the first round.
Inhale,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Hold,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Exhale,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Practice four more rounds of even count breathing at your own pace.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Dance with your hands.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Now,
Envision an orange pyramid of light coming out of your lower abdomen.
Mentally fill this pyramid with vitality and joy.
Slowly rotate the pyramid to examine each side,
One by one.
The first side represents health.
Watch that side glow with the brightest orange you can imagine.
You are healthy.
Turn the pyramid to the next side.
This represents abundance.
Feel your pelvic muscles stretched,
Open to receiving an abundance of health and wealth.
Mentally envision the pyramid turning again.
Fill that side with passionate joy and pleasure.
Smile as your pyramid shines brightly.
When you're ready,
Rotate the pyramid again.
This fourth and final side represents your worth.
See the pyramid glow with all the joy you deserve.
Affirm out loud,
I love who I am exactly as I am.
Feel that these words are filling your pyramid.
Now softer,
I love who I am exactly as I am.
Now whisper,
I love who I am exactly as I am.
Take the affirmation deep within,
Planting it inside your pyramid that glows orange.
With great conviction,
I love who I am exactly as I am.
Imagine your pyramid slowly lowering and dissolving back into your pelvic region.
Feel all the health,
Joy,
Pleasure and abundance melting into your sacral chakra through your open pelvis.
Affirm again mentally,
I love who I am exactly as I am.
Sit in this stretch for as long as it feels good.
This meditation can also be helpful if you recently had an ectopic pregnancy that has dissolved naturally from medication or surgery once you've been cleared for light exercise.
