Using a mantra quietens the mind and lulls it into a sleepy state, stimulating the production of melatonin (sleepy chemicals). It enables you to process the day's events and drift off into a heavenly slumber.

Sat Naam.

Welcome to today's meditation.

My name is Jo,

Jo Yoga,

And well,

Today we're going to be doing a Kundalini Yoga meditation for sleep.

So this meditation can be done one of two ways.

You can do it before you go to bed,

Sitting up in your bed,

Just to kind of quieten the nervous system.

And if you're a sensitive person like I am,

At the end of the day,

You have so much processing to do.

So this just really helps you kind of bring everything together and power down beautifully.

You can also do this laying down in your bed,

And you'll just drift off halfway through the meditation.

So we're going to do it today for six minutes,

But you can have it running for as long as you like.

And actually at some point,

I am going to do myself a little audio one so that you can just listen to it as well before you go to sleep.

And if you want to know more about that,

Just subscribe to me on the website and get my newsletter because I'll be releasing that very soon.

So the first thing we'll do then is we are going to tune in.

So just sit really comfortably and bring your hands together at your heart center.

Rub your palms.

And then bring them together and take a deep breath in through the nose.

And out.

And we're going to breathe in with Aum,

Namo,

Gurudev,

Namo.

We're going to tune in with Aum,

Namo,

Gurudev,

Namo.

Deep breath in.

Aum,

Namo,

Gurudev,

Namo.

Aum,

Namo,

Gurudev,

Namo.

Aum,

Namo,

Gurudev,

Namo.

Deep breath in.

And out.

So if you are doing this sitting up,

You're going to be sitting in an easy pose like this with a nice straight spine.

And then you're going to perfectly connect your hands so everything is connected completely.

And you're going to have them here and it kind of just closes everything down.

So I'm going to stay in this position.

But for you,

If you're laying down,

You just lay down in Shavasana.

And what we're going to do is we're going to breathe in,

Hold the breath,

And then mentally vibrate the mantra Waheguru eight times.

Then you breathe out,

Hold the breath out,

Mentally vibrate Waheguru eight times.

So inhale,

Hold,

Mentally vibrate Waheguru eight times.

Exhale,

Hold,

Mentally vibrate Waheguru eight times.

And we shall begin.

Waheguru,

Waheguru,

Waheguru,
