Hi,
I'm Joy and today we're going to take just a few minutes to drop into our bodies and to breathe with gratitude.
This is a simple practice,
But it can open the heart in the most beautiful way.
We'll invite in three things that you feel grateful for and with each breath,
You'll let that gratitude move through your body like warm light and love.
Whenever you're ready,
Let's begin.
Find a cozy position,
Seated or lying down,
Where your body is supported and where you can soften just a little more.
As you arrive,
Gently close your eyes and start to feel your breath.
Inhale slowly through the nose and exhale softly out through the mouth.
Now let's do that again together.
A full,
Nourishing inhale and a long,
Spacious exhale.
Let your shoulders drop and let your breath move like a wave,
Easy and natural.
Now bring to mind one thing you feel deeply grateful for today.
This could be someone you love,
A moment that touched your heart.
Now hold that in your heart and take a breath into your chest.
Feel the gratitude land there.
Let it swirl and glow like warm honey settling into your heart.
Now with your exhale,
Let it ripple out through your shoulders and arms down to the palms of your hands.
Let yourself receive that sweetness.
Now,
Bring in a second source of gratitude,
Something small,
Maybe unexpected.
This could be a smile from a random stranger,
It could be a song or the breath itself.
As you breathe it in,
Let it travel all the way down to your belly.
And feel how that area starts to soften.
Now on the exhale,
Let it spread into your hips,
Your thighs,
Your calves and ankles.
Let your body say yes to gratitude.
Now,
Gently bring in a third thing you're grateful for.
Allow it to rise naturally.
Something that brings you peace.
As you breathe this in,
Feel it flow all the way down to the soles of your feet.
Let your feet connect to the earth,
Anchored to this very moment.
Imagine the gratitude traveling all the way down and rooting in,
Affirming I am safe,
I am supported and I am held.
Now,
Take one more full breath and let your entire body glow with the feeling of being deeply grateful.
Rest here for a few more quiet breaths.
And when you're ready,
Coming back into your space,
Allow your eyes to float open.
I thank you for sharing this moment with me,
Hoping that your heart feels just a little fuller and your body lighter.
Remember that you can return to this practice any time that you need to feel more grounded and more open.
As you move through your day,
Consider this.
What would shift if I made space for gratitude in my body every day?
And we'd love to hear how this experience felt for you,
So please do share in the challenge forum if you're feeling inspired too.
Sending you much love.
