Coming into a comfortable seated position,
Whether on a cushion or a chair,
Closing the eyes and settling into this moment.
Now envision,
In front of you,
Is a fire.
This fire is warm,
It is safe,
It is contained,
And it provides a source of energy,
A source of light,
As you meditate.
Feeling the breath,
Breathing in and breathing out,
As you also envision this fire in front of you.
Now,
You're going to invite elements of your life,
Which you would like to let go of,
You invite these elements to come to you as an opportunity to relinquish them and to release them.
Start with the smaller parts of your life that could be easier to let go of.
As these elements rise forth in your consciousness,
You're going to envision offering them to the fire.
If it's supportive,
You can also imagine that in honor of that which we are letting go,
You see yourself offering something to the fire.
This could be an offering of grains of rice,
Dried pieces of cedar or sage,
Or a piece of paper without what you want to let go of written down.
When you feel the element which you would like to let go of arise,
And you are ready,
You can breathe in deeply,
And on the exhale,
Offer this element of life which you'd like to let go of to the symbolic fire.
Letting go of habits.
Letting go of thoughts.
Letting go of your patterns.
Letting go of your habits.
Make your offering.
Smoke rising.
Rising upwards.
I let go of impatience.
I let go of self-judgment.
I let go of fear.
Feel a sense of lightness.
Feel a sense of spaciousness.
Feel the possibility of freedom.
Feel a sense of liberation.
The baggage and weight you've been carrying has been released,
And in this moment,
Feeling the supports and the inspiration,
This fire is here for you.
It is within you,
And it is here whenever you need it.
We're going to sit for another minute,
Seeing if anything else comes to you,
And as you're ready,
Returning back to the breath,
Seeing the fire fading away,
Breathing in,
Following the breath naturally.
