Hello and welcome to this meditation to help you overcome the fear and anxiety around heavy workloads.

Maybe you have been constantly given overwhelming workloads that now you are starting to be very anxious before work.

This meditation will help you process your fears and release your overwhelm so that you can actually step into your day or your shift with a fresh strategy to make your day smoother and meaningful.

Let's begin with a deep cleansing breath.

You are breathing in through the nose and you're breathing out slowly through the mouth.

You are deliberately making slower exhale.

To allow slow exhale,

You can close your lips halfway so that the air is going to slowly come out.

Focusing on your breathing while allowing your thoughts to exist without judgment.

At this time maybe you have lingering thoughts about what has happened in the past,

All the evidence of heavy workloads and feeling overwhelmed.

It's okay,

These thoughts will come,

Let them be and let them come and go just like clouds in the sky.

Breathing in and breathing out.

So the reality of life is work has been overwhelming but then you are choosing to be here right now with you,

Allowing your full presence to reconnect with your breath.

Breathing in and breathing out slowly.

Feel your facial muscles relax.

Allow this relaxed gaze despite how threatened your nervous system might be feeling right now.

You are contradicting and bypassing that and just allowing this relaxing facial expression.

Maybe you haven't even smiled in a long time,

It's possible you have been so overwhelmed you don't remember the last time you laughed.

And let's take this moment to just smile.

And appreciate ourselves for being resilient and taking this time to re-examine how you can make your life better.

Breathing in and breathing out.

Focusing on your soft and smiling gaze.

You're moving on,

You're focusing on your shoulders,

Noticing any tension that exists in your shoulders.

Bring your shoulders up as you breathe in and dropping your shoulders as you breathe out.

Take this moment to move around,

You can move your shoulders,

Maybe stretch your neck a little bit if you feel any tension there.

Embrace this relaxation moment.

You are calming down your nervous system so you can see very clearly how you can actually make your shift smoother and meaningful.

How you can expand your self-care and show up for yourself.

If your mind wanders,

That's okay.

You can simply come back to this meditation by focusing on your breath.

You are noticing the cool air come through the nose as you breathe in and the warm air come through the mouth as you breathe out.

Inhale and exhale.

Notice and acknowledge your body sensations.

Allow your breath to melt all your tensions away.

You are letting go of self-blame.

You are allowing your tension to melt away just like an august sun melts away the snow in the mountains.

Breathing steady.

Continue to focus on your breathing.

Inhale and exhale slowly.

Acknowledging that wake assignments,

Wake loads are pressing concerns that are not in your full control.

Focusing on your breath allows calm and peace to focus only on what you can control.

Breathing in and exhaling slowly.

You are choosing to be calm and peaceful despite the reality that a heavy wake load has caused you overwhelm and stress in the past.

You realize that the wake loads will shift and change but your inner peace,

Confidence and critical thinking are stable.

Your inner peace,

Confidence and critical thinking are stable.

Your inner strength and experience will help you find effective solutions that allow you to serve others without compromising your own health and joy.

Breathe in faith and breathe out self-blame.

Breathe in confidence and breathe out self-doubt.

Breathe in self-compassion and breathe out self-blame.

Breathe in kindness and breathe out fear.

Let go of any self-blaming and assumptions of how hard the day will be.

The day will have some challenges but you have inner resources,

Confidence,

Critical thinking and experience to help you go through it.

Breathe in trust and breathe out doubt.

Continue to focus on your breathing.

Notice any remaining fears and tension.

Fear is the emotional response to an immediate threat.

Fear is also a communication tool.

So continue to focus on your breathing and let's focus on understanding what your fear is here to tell you.

Breathing in,

Breathing out.

When we fear about how terribly the day is going to go because of our previous experiences,

It's valid.

In addition to communicating that we might be threatened,

What else is fear communicating to us?

So the fear of overwhelming workloads is often here to remind us to tune in with our confidence to ask for help.

At the same time,

This fear is also here to remind you that asking for help is a sign of strength.

So let go of that notion that asking for help makes you weak or a failure.

Breathing deeply in and breathe slowly out,

Letting go of self-blame.

So you need help not because you are incapable.

You need help because the system is failing to provide a manageable workload.

It is a pressing problem in healthcare.

This is not solely your problem.

And therefore you can truly and completely let go of your self-blame.

Instead,

Replace it with confidence and strategy to navigate through each and every challenge.

Breathing in strength and breathing out self-blame,

Releasing of the pressure to be perfect.

Be grateful that your team members are paid to help you.

Breathing in and breathing out.

So your fear is here to tell you to be brave,

To show up for yourself no matter how hard or uncomfortable it might feel.

You may have to say no and that is okay.

Breathing in and breathing out slowly.

The fear of overwhelming workloads is here to remind you that no is a complete sentence.

Breathing in and breathing out slowly.

If you fear that saying no will get you in trouble,

Then that fear is here to remind you to expand on your understanding of your rights to say no.

Breathing steady.

This fear of overwhelm is also here to remind us to prioritize our physical and mental well-being.

It's a reminder that burnout is not a sign of resilience.

Breathing in and breathing out slowly.

Embracing this moment of peace and clarity.

You see so clearly now that stability in your day is rooted in your ability to respond calmly instead of reacting in fear.

Breathing in and breathing out.

Wiggling your toes,

Allowing deeper relaxation.

You see so clearly now that when you embrace and act on the messages that the fear is giving you,

You automatically release the fear.

Breathing in and breathing out.

Tuning in with your intuition.

Take a few seconds here to really listen to your intuition.

What is your intuition telling you?

What messages are you receiving from your fear?

What messages are you receiving from your fears right now?

So so breathing steady.

I'm so proud of you for taking this time to prepare your mind for an opportunity to make a difference in others while you advance your self-growth and learning.

You are not afraid.

Instead,

You are confident and aware.

You are present and will take time to sever the good moments in your day.

It is a great day to be healthy and ready to serve others.

You have all your inner resources,

Your critical thinking,

Your experience.

You have your wisdom and your intuition has given you a lot more to draw from in order to address any challenges that will come your way today.

Go on and make a difference while also maintaining your own physical and mental wellness.

Namaste.

So so
