Beginning with attention to the breath.

Relaxing attention into the breath.

You can think of attention on the breath as being easeful.

It's an undoing to the breath.

Releasing to the breath.

Surrendering to the breath.

Of course,

It's always useful and even profound to notice how the breath happens entirely without you.

Or at least the you you imagine yourself to be.

And you can sense into that which is breathing you.

See if you can sense that.

It can help to have a sincere curiosity to know what is it that's breathing.

Who's breathing?

And not to have that be the subject of thought,

But something to viscerally sense.

Who or what is breathing?

Something you let go to.

Something you allow.

And when you begin to sense it,

You may notice the mind's desire to understand or categorize.

There's actually nothing to be done with it,

But just to abide with it with an open heart.

And whatever thoughts may arise or feelings or distractions,

Restlessness,

You just let that go.

Surrender it to that which is breathing you.

And now this may apply to you,

It may not,

But if it does,

If there's something you're having difficulty with,

A challenge in your life,

Focus on it,

Bring it into your awareness,

Hold it yourself for a moment or two.

And then in the next out-breath,

You release it and surrender the issue to that which is breathing you.

You can do this as many times as you like.

You may notice a peace that arises.

It comes with the realization of how little control you actually have.

There's a freedom there,

A liberation.

When you let go of struggle and striving,

You may notice that that which is breathing you has no difficulty allowing everything to be exactly as it is.

Its patience,

Its affection,

Its warmth is eternal and unchanging.

On one level,

It is a resource for us.

On a deeper level,

It is who we are.

The more we let go to that realization,

The more that liberation is available.

The more that liberation is you.

As you give to it,

Your imagined self.

As you give to it,

Your self-image.

As you give to it,

Your desire and attachments.

You even give to it the sense of being the meditator.

So there is meditation,

But no one meditating.

Listening,

But no one listening.

Stillness,

But no one being still.

Breathing,

But no one breathing.

Thoughts,

But no one thinking.

Thoughts.

Thanks for watching.
