There is a lot of change in the air.
Some of it feels great.
Some of it feels heavy.
And some of it feels unknown and unfamiliar.
But change is constant.
It is inevitable.
And the more mindfully you can transition,
Rather than resist,
The more rewarding change is.
Let's begin this meditation by getting super comfy.
You can lie down or sit in a chair.
Whatever feels most comfortable for you.
Allow your eyes to gently close.
Bring your awareness to your physical body.
Observe the parts of your body in contact with the bed or the chair.
Observe the breath as it gently glides in and out of the nose.
Feel the temperature of the air on your skin.
Feel into the subtle beating of your heart.
The sensation of your tongue in your mouth.
Your eyelids as they gently kiss together.
The subtle sensation of the blood running through your veins.
The movement of your belly and chest as you inhale and exhale.
You are safe.
You are secure.
You are here in the present moment.
Thoughts and feelings that arise are just energy and can move through you as freely as the breath.
Bring your awareness now to your natural breath.
Not trying to alter it or force it in any way.
Without effort,
Without fear,
The breath changes and moves with ease.
It is a universal cycle and it knows that after every exhale comes a new inhale.
No matter how long the pauses are between.
Try it with me now as we split the breath into four parts.
Breathing in for the count of four.
Holding at the top for the count of four.
Exhaling for the count of four and pausing at the bottom for the count of four.
Inhale.
Two.
Three.
Four.
Pause.
Two.
Three.
Four.
Exhale.
Two.
Three.
Four.
Pause.
Two.
Three.
Four.
Inhale.
Two.
Three.
Four.
Pause.
Two.
Three.
Four.
Exhale.
Two.
Three.
Four.
Pause.
Two.
Three.
Four.
Continuing this pattern three more times on your own.
Releasing the count.
Bringing yourself back to your natural breath.
The breath is an anchor point to the present moment.
Even when the biggest changes in our life occur,
The breath still remains constant.
As does the moon,
The sun,
The seasons,
The hours,
Minutes,
Seconds on a clock.
They are constantly changing yet they remain constant.
The universe is cyclical.
Change is universal.
You are part of the universe and if you resist change,
The cycle experiences a stagnancy.
Often it's the anticipation of change that can set us into fear rather than the change itself.
So in these anticipatory moments,
Take a deep breath in and a long breath out and say to yourself,
I am safe.
Right now,
In this present moment,
I am safe.
Often change will feel uncomfortable but to leave your comfort zone is just a recalibration of what comfort is.
In these moments,
Return to your breath.
Bring yourself back to the present moment.
Remind yourself that change is universal and you are safe.
So let's take a deep inhale breath and a long,
Slow exhale.
And when you feel ready,
