Hello,

Hello and welcome.

Welcome to this meditation.

This meditation is on finding peace in chaos.

My name is John McCaskill and I'm honored to be your guide through this today.

Go ahead and assume a comfortable position,

Whatever that may look like for you.

If that's lying down,

If it's sitting up,

If it's standing or even walking,

Find that position.

If it's safe to do so,

I encourage you to go ahead and close your eyes.

Otherwise,

Just soften your gaze and imagine your body in this time and in this space.

Feel your body in this time and in this space.

And start to notice the feelings in your extremities.

In your fingertips,

In your toes,

In your feet,

In your hands.

Slowly move from your extremities further into your core.

Closer and closer to your heart and your mind.

Imagine that attention moving from your extremities to your heart and mind.

Feel that attention moving closer to your heart and mind.

And I want you to imagine the connection between the two,

Your heart and your mind.

How the two are inextricably connected.

How we feel something within our hearts and how that may affect our mind.

And how we think something within our mind and how that may affect our hearts.

And imagine the two of them as they are right now.

As your heart and as your mind are right now without any judgment.

Just noticing how they feel and what you may be carrying within you in your mind and in your heart.

And now imagine taking what is in or on your mind and heart,

Taking it and simply setting it aside.

Whatever it may be,

Good or bad,

Painful or joyous.

Take it out of both your heart and your mind and imagine setting it aside.

Simply putting it down.

Maybe setting it on a table,

Putting it in a cupboard,

A storage container,

Whatever fits.

Just visualize taking it out and putting it somewhere other than your heart,

Other than your mind.

And as you do,

Imagine the state of your heart and your mind and how that state changes.

State of your mind,

The state of your heart.

Is it settled?

Breathe into this feeling.

This settled and peaceful feeling.

Even though you may be surrounded by chaos,

Inside you can be at peace.

You can be settled.

Breathe this peace into your heart and into your mind.

The sense of being settled into your heart and into your mind.

Feel that sense of peace,

That sense of being safe.

Feel the love and joy,

The sense of love and joy that comes with that.

And note how that sense of love and joy,

How it is connected to peace.

The peace and harmony that you feel within.

Regardless of what is going on on the outside,

You are breathing in peace and a feeling of being settled,

Which brings you a feeling of love and joy.

And imagine now as you breathe out,

Sharing that love and joy with the world and space and time around you.

How that can help to settle the calm and chaos on the outside.

Your peace and your being settled on the inside can quiet down the chaos on the outside.

Perhaps in someone else's life.

Someone else who needs that and this feeling of being settled.

They need you to share it with them.

Imagine the love and joy that you have in your heart and mind being shared with someone very close to you who needs it.

Someone whose life may be very chaotic.

And now imagine this love and joy that is bringing you peace.

Peace and a feeling of being settled.

Imagine as you breathe out,

You are sharing that with the masses and helping many,

Many come to that sense of peace and being settled.

Feeling them,

Their minds and their hearts.

And feeling the love and joy that is within them and around them.

We are powerful beings internally.

We can settle ourselves and bring ourselves to a sense of peace.

Regardless of what is going on around us.

Externally we can share this love,

This joy.

And this peace surrounds us and it surrounds the masses.

We all need this and we all have this to share.

Uncover it for yourself.

And revel in the joy and peace that it brings to share it with others.

And now let's finish with three deep cleansing breaths together.

Again by breathing out as much air as you can from your lungs,

Bringing your navel to your spine.

Now breathe in deep in through your nose if you're able.

And relax,

Letting it go nice and slow.

Slow breathing.

Relaxing.

Deep breath in again through your nose if you're able.

And the top reversing that,

Letting it go nice and slow.

Slow.

Slow.

One final breath deep.

Feeling those lungs expanding them as much as possible.

Holding at the top for a second.

And releasing.

Nice and slow.

Just full breath out.

And now on your own time as you're ready,

Go ahead and start to come slowly out of the practice.

Breathing regularly,

Normally naturally.

And blinking your eyes open,

Maybe bringing some movement back into your body.

Thank you all again.

Thank you for allowing me to guide you through this meditation.

Thank you for being with me through this meditation.

It is my honor to be with you.

Go forth and be well.

Until next time.
