Thank you for joining me today.
Every day we find ourselves at moments that are in between one thing and another.
The past and the future.
This choice or that.
Consciousness and unconsciousness.
The mind looks for a root or solution that it has seen before and says we should go this way or we should go that.
And usually without reflection we do.
But as a meditator,
As you find yourself going deeper on your path,
There is always the question of how you can access the presence of this moment.
In this 10-minute practice we will gently center through the body and the breath to come to the crossroads of awareness.
Here we will stand on the ground of this moment choosing our way from this place of authenticity and deeper understanding.
And as we rest in the closeness of this in-between time we will allow awareness to gently light up our next steps and to guide our intention as we move forward into the new.
Allowing yourself to settle the way that's right for you.
Sitting or lying down.
Legs crossed or kneeling.
Hands on your knees or hands on your lap.
Feeling your feet against the floor.
Aware of your right leg.
Aware of your left leg.
Aware of your hips,
Your buttocks.
Lower back,
Middle back,
Upper back and shoulder blades.
Right shoulder and left shoulder.
Right arm,
Left arm.
Right hand,
Left hand.
Your neck,
Allowing your neck to be easy.
Back of your head,
Top of your head.
Forehead soft,
Eyes relaxed.
And allowing a gentle inner smile of life to come to your lips perhaps even allowing your tongue to touch your top palate behind your teeth very gently.
Wherever your throat centre.
Right side of your chest.
Left side of your chest.
Whole chest.
Abdomen.
Lower abdomen.
Your whole body.
And just feeling into your natural breath.
Aware of the sounds in the room and the sound of my voice.
Noticing the spaces.
Spaces in between the sounds.
Spaces in between your breath.
Spaces in between these words.
Allowing silence.
Allowing stillness.
Allowing silence.
Allowing yourself to be in this moment.
Aware of your feelings and your thoughts.
Aware of the feeling of your body sitting here.
Aware of the feeling of life in you.
And noticing the spaces in all this movement form.
Spaces in your thoughts.
Spaces in your feelings.
Spaces in your breath.
And as we sit like this,
We find ourselves at the crossroads of this moment.
And we feel the pull of the future and the past.
Of the unknown and the known.
And if you will allow yourself,
You can feel the energies and the attachments of these things.
Not holding ourselves still,
But allowing stillness.
Not making ourselves silent,
But enjoying silence.
Noticing your own energy and what direction you feel pulled into.
And allowing yourself to simply let go of that for a moment,
So that you can see and survey the landscape more clearly.
Allowing yourself a moment of being in between.
Feel the earth beneath you as you sit.
Feel the earth in your body.
Feel the sky above you as you sit.
Feel the sky within your body.
Earth,
Sky and nature.
And the crossroads of this moment.
Each of these are your witness.
And your awareness is witness.
The silence within you is witness.
You allow yourself to gently look ahead,
To where the silent voice of your spirit is showing you the beauty and the mystery and the newness of the next step that you could take.
And you listen with your spirit.
You start from where you are.
With authenticity and with love and with peace.
And as you look ahead,
You allow for presence to light up your intention,
Your sense of possibility,
Your sense of proactivity.
You're aware of the old mind forms,
The old emotional movements,
The old habits.
Not trying to stop them,
But simply allowing ourselves to witness from the earth,
The sky,
The nature of our being.
You allow your deeper wisdom to show you the next step.
Revealing through your felt sense of knowing and wholeness.
And so I invite you to continue sitting for as long as is right for you.
But at this point,
I'll have to leave you.
But I just want to say how grateful I am for your practice and how much the world needs your authenticity and your awareness.
Bless you.
