This is a 10 minute inner life awareness meditation that you can do wherever you are,
Either at home or at work on your lunch hour,
While you're traveling,
Commuting,
Even driving.
So there's no need to set up a special A for meditation,
But if you are seated in formal practice,
Of course that's good too.
Let's begin by simply being here in this moment,
Being where you are,
Getting a feeling of the space around you,
Knowing where you are,
And being here through your five senses.
You can feel your clothes against your skin,
You can hear the sound you can hear,
You can see what you can see,
And even if you have your eyes closed,
You're aware of the light coming in through your closed eyelids.
There's the scent of the air in the room and your nostrils,
And there's the taste within your mouth.
All five senses.
And you're aware of the breath moving in your body.
This practice isn't going to focus on the breath,
We're just aware of the breath moving in your body.
And you're aware of how your mind is moving,
And you're aware of how your mind is moving.
And you're aware of how your mind is moving.
And you're aware of how your mind is moving.
Of how your mind is and your thoughts.
Not trying to change your thoughts or create meditational thoughts or affirmations.
Just aware of your thoughts,
Perhaps as energy.
We let that energy be as it is because you can notice it.
So you don't need to try to change it.
You just notice it.
And the same with our emotions.
We just notice them.
Feeling them as energy.
We don't need to get involved.
Try to change them into something better.
Because as we deepen into awareness our mind and emotions tend to resolve themselves.
Healing and wholeness takes place when we give ourselves the space to heal and to become whole.
And so we're aware of all the awareness that we have.
Which is quite incredible to be aware of so much at once.
Aware of what is around you.
Aware of what is around you.
Aware of your body.
Aware through your five senses.
Aware of the energy of the mind.
Aware of the energy of your feelings.
Aware of the breath moving in the body.
And allow this sense of awareness to meet the feeling of life in your body.
Again,
Not as a mental concept but just actually feeling the feeling of life in your body.
Perhaps you can feel it in your whole body or perhaps just one hand,
A foot,
An arm or a leg.
You may feel it more at the area over your heart or in your face.
In your middle back.
No right or wrong.
Just feeling the feeling of life in your body.
Just feeling the feeling of life in your body.
It is the life in your body that produces your body right now.
That produces consciousness and awareness and mind.
This is the fundamental aspect of your being.
It is the life in your body that produces your body right now.
This is the fundamental aspect of your being.
Notice that you are not creating your being.
Your being just is.
And perhaps you can notice how much your body enjoys recognising the life within it.
How the pressure drops.
How the stress ebbs away.
How it is so easy to let go.
How it is so easy to let go.
How it is so easy to let go.
It is so easy to let go.
How the stress ebbs away.
How anxiety opens up.
How tension and closeness dissipate.
How tension and closeness dissipate.
And perhaps you can feel a living space that comes before the feeling of life in the body.
Space around your life.
The mind may want to conceptualise or jump away from your recognition of space and your awareness of space.
Your awareness of space.
Your awareness of space.
Your awareness of space.
Your awareness of space.
Your recognition of space within you.
It may do that through the emotions or through the body.
And if that happens then we're not trying to force ourselves back or get back to the feeling that we just had.
We simply come back to the breath in the body or the feeling of life in the body.
Or notice what is around us or our senses with awareness.
And awareness leads us into awareness.
In a moment I'll ring the bell and this meditation will be over.
But there's no need to change or to come out or to be anything other than you are right now.
Because you are fully here.
Present in the here and the now.
And yet if the mind starts up and creates a version of yourself for work or a version of yourself for another person allow yourself to notice that movement with awareness.
And awareness will lead you back into the joyful heart of awareness that you are.
Thank you for practicing with me today.
