Hello,

And welcome to Yoga Nidra.

My name is Joey.

Today's practice is Yoga Nidra for Bliss.

As you begin your practice,

Find yourself reclined or lying down in a comfortable posture.

Take a moment and take a bright inhale in and a bright exhale out,

Taking inventory of how the breath moves in and out of the body.

I invite you to allow the hands to relax at about a 45 degree angle away from the hips.

Left opposite the hips,

Take another few breaths to relax.

.

.

For why you need yoga nidra Why are you welcoming yoga nidra into your life today?

Notice everything that you are aware of in this moment Sounds,

Emotions,

Thoughts,

And adaptive qualities of open acceptance For the duration of your yoga nidra practice,

Nothing is good or bad Simply be curious about anything in your awareness If you have a purpose,

A particular need for practicing yoga nidra today,

Maybe an intention,

Place it on the sacred altar of your heart Perhaps what you desire is healing for yourself or for someone else Maybe you need clarity to help answer a question Maybe your intention for practice is to offer gratitude and simply allow your body to rest as you come into greater knowledge of your true nature Again,

I invite you to create your Samkalpa,

Your seed of intention for this practice By creating a positive statement of truth that reflects what is true and positive,

What is specific,

And what is now.

.

.

State this intention as where you are in relationship to where you'd like to be or what you'd like to see today Being both optimistic and realistic Try a phrase,

Maybe like,

I'm on the road to blank Or,

I have everything inside of me for blank Filling in the blank with your appropriate truth If there's another Samkalpa that you are working with,

Please use that Either way,

Repeat this intention a few times in your head.

.

In our practice,

You will practice not only paying attention,

But also you'll be practicing identifying as awareness itself As you go deeper into your Gnydra,

Simply be curious about everything that is outside of you What feels outside of you?

Temperature,

Sounds,

Maybe smells?

Notice everything that feels outside of you Welcome it with curiosity,

Recognizing without any judgment for exactly what it is,

And simply be curious about it as you're witnessing it You don't have to do anything about it Now,

Change your aspect and look inward And notice everything that feels inside Notice the thoughts,

Emotions,

Or internal sensations,

Anything that feels inside of you Notice this without the need to do anything about it You're simply welcoming,

Recognizing,

And witnessing Now go back to the external world What is everything that you are aware of which feels outside of you?

Welcome,

Recognize,

And witness everything that feels outside of you Now change back to inside Notice everything that feels inside We will spend these next moments in our journey into the physical body As I ask you to witness and observe physical points in your body Allow yourself to take an inhale in And then exhale out Another inhale in And then exhale out The space between your eyebrows,

The base of the throat,

The right shoulder,

The right elbow,

Right wrist,

Right thumb Tip of the first finger Tip of the second finger Tip of the third finger In this next journey,

I simply ask you to draw awareness to different points in your body Witnessing the sensations,

Observing the sensations of the physical body Allow yourself to take an inhale in And then exhale out The space between your eyebrows The base of the throat Right shoulder Right elbow Right wrist Right thumb Tip of the right first finger Tip of the right second finger Tip of the right third finger Tip of the right small finger Right wrist,

Right elbow,

Right shoulder Base of the throat Left shoulder Left elbow Left wrist Left thumb Tip of the left first finger Tip of the left second finger Tip of the left third finger Tip of the left small finger Left wrist Left elbow Left shoulder Base of the throat Heart center Center of right chest Heart center Center of left chest Heart center Navel center Center of the pelvis Right hip Right knee Right ankle Right large toe Tip of right second toe Tip of right third toe Tip of right fourth toe Tip of right small toe Right ankle Right knee Right hip Center of the pelvis Left hip Left knee Left ankle Tip of the large toe Tip of left second toe Tip of left third toe Tip of left fourth toe Tip of left small toe Left ankle Left knee Left hip Center of the pelvis Navel center Heart center Base of the throat Space between the eyebrows In this next journey,

I invite you to draw observation of the breath.

In the center of your navel.

Invite awareness of this breath.

Feeling the stomach rise and fall.

I'm going to ask you to count down from 27 to 1.

With an inhale and an exhale being one breath.

If you get lost,

Come back to 27.

Please begin counting.

Thank you.

Stop counting.

Now draw your awareness up a little bit higher into the lungs.

Feeling again the expansion of the lungs on the inhale and the collapse on the exhale.

Feeling the prana flow through our body.

Again,

I ask you to count down from 27 to 1.

Returning to 27 if you become lost.

Begin counting.

Now draw your awareness up.

Stop counting.

Again,

Move the breath and awareness a little bit further into the base of the throat.

Where we speak our ultimate truth.

And resume counting from 27 to 1.

Now draw your awareness up.

Stop counting.

Now draw the breath and awareness into the nostrils.

Feeling the cool air in and the warm air out.

This is our place of focus.

And again,

I ask you to count down from 27 to 1.

Begin counting.

Now draw your awareness up.

Stop counting.

Now I'm going to give you a few images from nature.

Draw the awareness of how they feel and observe maybe their sounds,

Their smells.

Subtle waves crashing on a beach.

Subtle waves crashing on a beach.

A willow tree in the wind.

A willow tree in the wind.

An orchard.

A willow tree in the wind.

A willow tree in the wind.

Taking a moment to feel.

Feel the sensations in your body.

As we come to the resolve of our yoga nidra practice.

Take a moment to find a little bit of movement in the body.

The right side of the body,

The left side of the body.

The body above the body below.

As you end your yoga nidra practice.

You may choose to come to a seated posture.

I'm going to count down from five to one.

At one,

Our yoga nidra practice has ended.

Five.

Four.

Three.

Two.

One.

Our yoga nidra is now over.

With so much gratitude in my heart.

Thank you for practicing.

Thank your body.

So Hum.

And happy Spontaneous

I really enjoyed this and found it easy to stay present with it. I’m the countdowns I didn’t get below 14 and as my breath slowed right down, I only got to 20, I made that ok in my mind and might have liked to know you did that on purpose.
