Hello,
This is Jodi with Big Heart and today we are going to do a short breath awareness meditation.
So go ahead and find a comfortable seat or lying down if that is best for you and begin by taking some slow long deep breaths.
Inhaling slowly and deeply in and out through your nose.
If your eyes are still open you can go ahead and close or cap them now.
Now allow your breath to return to its natural rhythm and just simply follow the gentle inhale and gentle exhale.
Allow your breath to pull you down into your body.
Notice your mind calming,
Your body relaxing.
Breathing in you are breathing in and breathing out you are breathing out.
Your body knows exactly how much air it needs.
Notice the rise and the fall of your chest,
The rise and the fall of your belly as you breathe.
Connecting the breath and the body together moment by moment.
Letting go,
Letting be.
As you allow your entire body to soften hold yourself with compassion and love and kindness.
Now let's observe your breathing.
Notice how your breath flows in and out.
Make no effort to change your breathing in any way.
Just simply notice how your body breathes.
Notice the stages of the complete breath.
From the in-breath to the pause that follows.
The exhale and the pause before taking another breath.
See how your breath continues to flow deeply,
Calmly,
Smoothly.
With every in-breath you welcome stillness and with every out-breath you release tension,
Worry,
And all thoughts that no longer serve you.
If you notice any stray thoughts don't dwell on them,
Just allow them to pass on and return to your breath.
See or imagine the breath flowing in through your nose then down into your lungs.
See the air inside your lungs expand filling your body and then the air returns out through your nose.
Notice the rise and the fall of your chest.
The rise and the fall of your belly.
Breathing in you are breathing in.
Breathing out you are breathing out.
Your breath allows your mind and your heart to connect and it is beautiful.
Feel that connection.
Your breath,
Your body,
Your heart.
As our practice comes to a close,
Keep your eyes closed.
I want you to know that you did a beautiful job today.
Your breath is your life force.
Be grateful for each one you take.
Namaste.
