When we are having a tough time, we forget to be kind and grateful for things. The cave person in us wants to be cruel and blame. We can get angry and uptight. Learning to switch focus onto being grateful can generate feelings of calm and safety.

Gratitude exercise.

Sitting comfortably with our feet on the floor.

And bringing attention to our breathing.

And when you are ready,

Allowing the breath to just deepen and become more soothing.

Allow the focus on the breathing to just fall away and starting to bring attention now to asking ourselves the following question.

Allowing the focus on the breathing to begin to fall away and bringing attention to asking ourselves the following question.

What are three things I am grateful for today?

Perhaps gently repeating and knowing that we can sit back in our minds without having to search for any answer.

Sitting and being curious to anything that might arise.

Kind to ourselves if nothing comes up.

No rush,

No need for an answer.

We are just allowing the mind to reflect.

Noticing how we feel when something comes to mind about something we are grateful for.

Opening to the sensations within the body.

What am I grateful for today?
