Welcome,
My name is Jeongjin.
This is a lifestyle guide to live in alignment with yin-yang energy throughout the day.
As you know,
The yin-yang symbol is a circle with a black half and a white half.
The black half represents yin,
Which is associated with the moon and stillness.
The white half represents yang,
Which is associated with the sun and activity.
Yin-yang represents the various manifestations of source energy,
Which flows through everything in the universe.
To live in alignment with yin-yang is to honor the fact that we are also a part of this universal energy.
In fact,
Our bodies are in sync with the flow of yin-yang throughout the day.
When the sun rises,
Yang energy also rises in the body.
And when the moon rises,
Yin energy rises in the body.
When our lifestyle is aligned with the rhythm of this energy,
We flow with the current of yin-yang rather than swim against it.
This supports the well-being of our body,
Mind,
And spirit.
Depending on the time of day,
We can make conscious lifestyle choices to live in harmony with the flow of yin-yang.
In the morning,
The energy is transitioning from yin to yang.
The energy around us and within us is warming up at this time.
To honor the lingering yin energy,
Be mindful to gradually increase the level of activity in the body and mind.
I personally find that first thing in the morning is the most ideal time for meditation because of the balance of yin-yang energy within and without.
At noon,
The sun is high in the sky and yang is at its peak.
From noon to about 3pm,
We have the most yang energy for mental and physical activities as well as digestion.
Make the most of this active energy by focusing on any activities that require more effort and concentration.
It's also ideal to exercise before the sun sets since physical activity is yang energy.
In the late afternoon,
Yang is transitioning to yin.
Like the setting sun,
Gradually decrease activity and focus on wrapping up the day.
In the evening,
Yin is the dominant energy.
When the body is in the slower energy of yin,
It serves us to be mindful of our energetic output.
Try to avoid mental and physical stimulation like excessive thinking,
Talking,
Moving,
And eating.
These yang activities go against the flow of yin,
So in the evening they can leave you feeling energetically depleted and imbalanced.
Instead,
Consciously choose activities that honor the still,
Quiet,
And reflective energy of yin.
Midnight is the peak of yin,
And immediately afterwards,
Yang energy begins to gradually increase.
So it's ideal to be asleep before midnight to get the most restful sleep.
To sum it up,
Let the sun and the moon be your guide.
Sunlight guides us to be active,
And darkness guides us to slow down and rest.
We are not separate from the universal energy that orchestrates the cycles of day and night.
Remembering and honoring this connection is what heals and nurtures the body,
Mind,
And spirit.
Thank you for joining me.
