
Strengthening Intuition

As we relax into the sanctuary of our own heart guided by the breath, we open ourselves to the grace that exists within us. We open to our hearts and a clarity of knowing and wisdom begins to arise. Through a relaxed inward gaze, we simply listen to our intuition and receive guidance and direction on a specific area of our life.
Transcript
Welcome.
In today's meditation,
We'll practice strengthening our intuition,
This quality that exists inside of ourselves that is so reliable when clear.
I found in my life that my intuition has become the most reliable guide in my life.
And when we start to listen and acknowledge the wisdom inside of us that is communicated to us via our intuition,
We make better decisions,
We grow more quickly,
And ultimately we become more and more full of love.
So let's begin today by becoming aware of the breath and finding an easy and relaxed meditation posture with the spine straight.
The chin can be slightly tucked,
And we can imagine a silver thread being pulled up through the top of our head that runs through our entire spine.
And with every breath,
We relax around the straightness and verticality of the spine.
And we become aware of the breath and breathe easily.
And with every moment,
We allow ourselves to become more and more present.
We notice the quality of the mind,
And any thoughts or feelings that we might be having,
And simply bring the attention back to the breath.
We allow our mind to relax more and more.
And we can even think of the mind riding the horse of the breath,
Making the mind the rider of the breath,
Such that the mind starts to naturally relax,
Given the ebb and flow that is so easy and gentle and relaxed of the breath.
One of the first things that we can do to strengthen our intuition is become present,
Even if just for a moment.
We can allow the mind to clear by becoming aware of the breath.
And then we just start to listen.
To enhance the listening,
We'll become aware of our heart.
And noticing how the heart space feels today.
Is it expanded or contracted?
Is it free or chained in some way?
And perhaps it's somewhere in the middle.
In any case,
Let us start to direct the breath into the heart space.
And with every breath,
Let us allow the heart to become more and more open.
We can see the heart as a sun,
Glowing brightly out the center of the chest in all directions.
Or simply notice the warm quality of the heart space that exists when we bring our attention and our care to it.
We notice that with every breath,
The heart's sun can start to expand more and more.
It starts to grow more bright.
It starts to feel better.
And perhaps this heart starts to feel more and more familiar.
We may even notice a quality of grace that starts to exist as we focus on our heart.
Grace as that communication or expression of life itself.
And with every breath,
We allow the heart to be expressed and alive inside of us.
We allow more and more ourselves to be moved by the breath.
And we welcome this aspect of life we'll call grace to become more and more present in our awareness.
When we welcome grace,
We hear intuition.
With every breath,
We welcome our intuition.
Intuition,
The word comes from the Latin,
Intuere,
Which means to look upon.
So we simply look upon ourselves.
We look to see what the grace of life is bringing us in the form of information,
A teaching,
A lesson.
And now from this place,
Let us choose one aspect of our lives that we'd like to hear from our intuition about.
It could be regarding a relationship.
It could be regarding a situation at work.
It could be regarding a role that we play in our lives that we need some clarity on.
Or it could be just a general teaching that we may need to hear from ourselves.
In any case,
Let us choose one specific area of our life.
And just like the word denotes,
Look upon.
We simply listen.
We notice the presence of our heart,
Expansion,
Of our heart.
We welcome the quality of gratitude into our experience.
And if we haven't heard or received a clear message,
We bring our awareness back to the breath and become patient.
I'm become more full of ease.
And we extend more and more care and compassion to ourselves as we become curious and open.
With our intention,
We welcome the grace of life as it exists inside of us.
And we continue to look upon into it.
If the chatter of the mind seems to take over this space,
We easily and gently return to the breath,
Clearing the table of our mind,
Creating a spaciousness for us to listen and to look.
And if our habitual mind continues to place items on this spacious table,
With every breath we clear the table easily.
And allow the gifts from our intuition inside of ourselves to be laid to rest in front of us.
If we're not receiving any clear messages,
There may be an aspect of resistance.
Maybe we don't want to hear what's there for us to hear.
Maybe it's not really what we want to do.
And in any case,
That's okay too.
We'll just notice that for ourselves.
And in this way,
Sometimes our intuition shows us what we may not want to see or acknowledge.
It may be the right thing for us,
But not the easy thing.
It may be the most simple approach that we know to be true,
But again not easy or perhaps not familiar.
And with our own humility,
We acknowledge that sometimes we know what we need to do and lack the courage to become slightly and perhaps greatly uncomfortable.
And if this is true for us,
Let us simply extend the quality of lightness,
Joviality,
Maybe even the ability to laugh at ourselves,
At how hard we try,
And how we might even make the simple and the simplest aspects of life so complex.
So with wherever we are right now in this practice,
Let us extend our gratitude.
Our gratitude for us.
We're engaged we're looking,
We're curious,
We're taking time for our own evolution.
And for that,
We can definitely be grateful.
