In today's meditation,
We'll take a journey into the anatomy of a moment,
Through a fun story and a visualization of us as a pebble sinking below a still pond.
We'll dive into the anatomy of a moment and discover a very clear way that we can experience the depth of the self that resides within us through piercing the mundane and superficiality that exists in the world around us.
So let's begin by becoming aware of the breath,
Noticing how it moves in and out of the body.
And with every breath allowing your mind to settle,
We can even think of tethering the mind to the breath,
Such that whenever we notice ourselves thinking or feeling,
We gently bring the awareness and the attention back to the breath.
With every moment that passes,
Let us relax around the breath,
Such that any effort,
Resistance or tension starts to ease itself and fall into the breath.
Now let's imagine ourselves as a pebble.
We're round and smooth,
And we're falling towards the surface of a still pond.
As we start to feel the breath,
We begin to feel the breath.
And we're falling towards the surface of a still pond.
As we strike the pond gently,
Ripples form in every direction around us,
And we can think of these ripples as our thoughts and feelings and the now moment.
So let us notice any thought or feeling that we might have.
Any thought or feeling that we might have.
And then just as we break the surface of the pond,
We begin our journey into the real.
We can see the light of day starting to grow more and more distant,
More and more dim as we sink.
We experience the stillness and the growing quiet around us.
And we start to experience the depth that is making itself known to our outsides.
We sink more and more deeply with every moment,
And the mind becomes more and more still.
And everything around us starts to slow down.
The light from the surface now is a memory,
And we're surrounded by darkness,
Which doesn't mean anything bad.
Darkness doesn't necessarily mean negativity or low frequency.
It's nothing to be afraid of.
We simply relax more and more into the moment.
We start to experience the pure potentiality of this lack of daylight,
And begin to feel the infinitude of the space around us.
We sink further and further,
But it's hard to tell if we're actually moving or still.
And we trust the infinite,
The infinite,
The infinite,
The infinite,
The infinite,
To tell if we're actually moving or still.
And we trust the experience around us.
We innately trust and feel that the depth surrounding us,
The pure space surrounding us,
And this darkness is a simple reminder of how we are eternal,
And we are infinite.
As we breathe,
We relax more and more and allow the boundaries of our small self to dissolve,
And our consciousness expands to fill up the infinite.
And our consciousness expands to fill up the infinite around us.
The silence is becoming our friend,
Our confidant,
And ultimately an aspect of ourselves that perhaps we had not known to this degree before.
With every moment,
Who we thought we were dissolves more and more.
The memories of ourselves as a personality,
As a person,
Start to slip through our fingers of the mind,
And who we know ourselves to be as infinite,
As the absolute,
As eternal,
Begins to feel more and more familiar.
And strangely,
This all feels so natural.
As we relax more and more into the bliss of the nature of existence itself,
We notice our system recalibrating to the infinite expansion and the depths around us.
And we start to become familiar with the space around us as simply I.
This is the I am.
I am.
I am.
I am.
I am.
There is a tenderness to these moments,
An innocence,
A beauty and a majesty.
There is a sense of awe and wonder as we feel the universe pulsate within and around us.
We remember this is the teaching of the non-dual,
That ancient sages and saints referenced in modern-day spiritual texts were once teaching all of their students,
I am that I am.
I am this I am.
I am this eternal.
I am the infinite.
I am this pure space.
I am pure potentiality.
I am nature.
I am the universe.
And in this stillness and silence from the bottom of this simple pond,
We simply allow ourselves to be.
