Never listen whilst driving or operating machinery,

Doing anything that requires concentration or attention,

Under the influence of mind-altering substances such as alcohol or drugs.

Only listen when you can safely relax completely,

In a controlled environment away from distraction.

So just make yourself comfortable,

Lying down with your feet and hands separated.

And look up as high as you can,

As if you were trying to look into your eyebrows.

Take a deep breath,

Inhale and exhale slowly.

Take another deep breath,

Inhale,

Exhale slowly.

Now take one more breath,

Hold it as long as you can.

Now close your eyes,

Becoming more and more relaxed as your eyes close down.

The muscles and nerves in and around your eyes are becoming sleepy,

Heavy,

Ready for rest.

And this is time for you,

Your eyelids,

Do not want to open.

Instead you will open up your mind's eye.

Open up your imagination.

Open up your capacity for creativity.

The creativity you can tap into to relax.

And I want you to see in front of you now,

A large and beautiful box.

See it decorated,

See it however it would be for you.

Because this box belongs to you it serves a purpose and in this box,

Once you've raised the lid and seen inside it,

You will feel moving out of your body and into that box any worries,

Stresses,

Fears,

Anxieties,

Pains,

Sorrows,

Any anger,

Any guilt.

Any other feelings that you don't want to experience right now you can place inside this box.

Anything you want to move out of yourself,

Move into that box now.

Now close it.

You can allow your mind to be still and free to explore.

Explore peaceful,

Powerful and purposeful relaxation.

And if you haven't already you can place the box somewhere safe.

Or you can get rid of the box completely.

It's your choice.

But notice as you do,

Your cares and tensions are far from you.

And now you're relaxing more and more with each and every sound that you hear.

With each easy breath that you take your eyes are feeling heavier and heavier.

As you allow a drifting,

Floating feeling to develop in your body.

Don't force it.

Don't try to make it happen.

Just know that it is.

And now in your own time,

In your own way,

Feel yourself floating down,

Drifting down deeper.

Each and every time you hear the word breathe your body will take a deep breath.

Every time you hear the word relax your mind will relax.

And every time you hear the word sleep your soul will sleep and restore and revive and renew.

Now that your physical body is starting to feel calm and peaceful,

You can now allow your mind to let go of any lingering thoughts.

Anything you want to let go.

Just breathe them out completely.

And at this moment in time,

Time is insignificant.

You don't need to try to make anything happen as that drifting,

Floating feeling continues within.

Your eyes can see perfectly well.

Even when closed,

Your inside eye is doing all the work for you now.

Allow your attention to drift,

Simply focus again on your breathing.

Notice any areas of tension melt away.

And notice which parts of your body feel relaxed,

Sit quietly and turn your attention to your breathing.

Breathe slowly,

Deeply.

In and out.

In and out.

In and out.

As you continue to breathe,

Count each breath out.

In and out.

In One In Two In Three In Four In Five Keep counting on your own count now,

Focusing all your attention on your breathing.

And on the numbers.

As your attention drifts,

Focus,

Drifts,

Focus again on your breathing.

And don't worry if your attention wanders.

In fact,

Allow your mind to wonder where it will drift off to next.

It might return to your breathing,

To your counting,

Or to those sensations of allowing yourself to deeply relax,

Restore and renew.

Because this time is yours to just be so enjoy it.

Let yourself go where you need to.

And now I shall count you deeper into an awareness of yourself deeper into this powerful restorative state.

Into a deep sleep.

On ten.

As each muscle and nerve,

Every cell,

Every organ relaxes.

On nine as a deep wave of relaxation washes over you through you.

You go deeper into a deep sleep,

A different type of sleep.

On eight.

Floating down,

Drifting down,

Moving down deeper into a deeper level.

On seven.

Going deeper on every count.

Your body response is doubling.

Intensifying you're twice as deep as you were on ten.

Nine.

Eight.

Seven.

Six.

More deeply,

More peacefully,

Relaxed with every sound that you hear.

Every sound around you flowing through you.

Relaxing you more and more you're going deeper into an awareness of yourself.

Five.

Deeper with every heartbeat.

Deeper with every word that I say,

Every whisper.

Four.

Deeper with every thought,

Every feeling.

Three.

Gently,

Calmly,

Easily moving onto an even deeper level.

Two.

Drifting way down deep.

Now you are taking that to an even deeper level.

Relax,

Sleep,

Breathe.

And allow that drifting,

Floating feeling to continue,

Continue to take calm breaths.

As you focus on relaxing your body.

Notice how each and every area of your body relaxes as soon as you hear.

The word relax focus on your feet.

Relax.

Angles.

Relax.

Legs.

Knees.

Hips.

Relax.

Pelvic area.

Bottom.

Abdomen.

Lower.

Back.

Middle.

Back.

Relax.

Chest.

Stomach.

Upper back.

Relax.

Let your shoulders relax.

Your arms.

Elbows.

Wrists.

Hands.

Relax.

Your neck.

Your face.

Your head.

Your skin.

Your blood can relax.

Every single part of you can calm.

And they relax to the level they need to.

Because the organs,

The nerves,

The cells will always continue to do what they do as they do it.

But they take this moment.

To take what they need.

More oxygen.

More calm.

More peace.

More quiet.

More silence.

An opportunity to release any tension,

Any stories they hold onto.

Any limits.

Any pains.

Anything they want to let go of today that would feel powerful.

Let them.

And take a deep breath and scan your body now for any remaining areas of tension.

Focus your attention on these areas relaxing them more and more.

Deeper and deeper.

Go deeper.

Drift deeper.

Sink deeper.

You are now opening yourself up to the possibilities available to you.

The ease that comes into your life from feeling completely relaxed.

Comfortable.

Quiet.

A peace silent in yourself,

In your space,

In your centre.

A quiet that belongs to you.

It is always available to you.

You just have to remember where to find it.

So observe this feeling of deep relaxation.

Memorise it.

Notice how calm you are.

Notice your breathing is slow and regular.

As you go deeper you are aware that you are not aware.

As you go deeper you are listening but you are not listening.

You are concentrating with your subconscious mind and your conscious mind is free to drift further and further.

Because as you travel you are going to a level where you can communicate directly with your subconscious mind.

The body is quiet as the mind listens.

The deepest part of you listens and relaxes.

You can help it,

Guide it,

Simply by continuing to do what you are doing now.

On each and every easy breath that you take you are beginning to breathe more deeply now.

You breathe in through your nose.

You breathe out through your nose.

In fact you keep your mouth closed and breathe through your nose.

I want you to imagine a colour,

A colour that you associate with healing,

With relaxing.

A colour you associate with sleep and regeneration.

What colour have you chosen?

Breathe that colour in to every part of your body.

Breathe it all around,

Sending it all around your body.

All those parts of your body that are so relaxed and are listening to every single word and relaxing,

Breathe that colour.

Take it to them.

And free yourself of any remaining tension.

As you go deeper and deeper into this wonderful,

Different kind of sleep.

So gently,

Calmly and easily,

Sending this colour through you.

Feel that colour in your solar plexus in your centre.

As it calms any nervous energy.

As it calms the nervous system your body is relaxed.

All the systems of the body relax to the level that's right for them.

Your immune system is recharging.

It is taking this moment for all that it needs.

Your body and mind relaxes.

And the more you relax,

The more you will.

It feels as if you're wrapped in a blanket of relaxation that covers you,

Surrounds you,

Holds you like a hug.

It's warm and kind,

Patient and caring.

You recognise that it's something that's always been with you.

Your ability to tap into this.

At times it's been difficult to know where you can find it.

But if you look within it's always there.

You were born able to relax,

Able to sleep deeply,

To breathe.

But when the stresses,

Strains,

Pains and pressing moments of life happened.

It became easy to forget how to put yourself first.

But now it can become easy again simply by listening and being open.

So as you continue to allow your chest to rise and fall,

Your nose knows how to breathe perfectly,

Calmly.

As you connect to your ability to relax easily you correct any beliefs that led you to believe this wasn't available to you.

You were born able to relax.

You have that with you now.

And the more you are able to connect to your peace,

The more peaceful you feel within.

The more peaceful you feel within,

The easier it becomes to trust yourself.

To trust your decisions,

Your choices,

Your feelings,

Your thoughts.

It starts with sleep and rest.

You are now choosing to be honest with yourself about when you need to unwind.

You are taking action and choosing to make sure that you prioritize this time for yourself.

You are ready and willing to acknowledge how important this time is for you to sleep.

So relaxing is vital.

Relaxing isn't indulgent or selfish.

It isn't a waste of time.

It isn't being lazy.

It is important.

It matters.

You relax to recharge.

You relax to be your best.

You relax for balance,

For repair,

For harmony.

So continue to relax,

To sleep deeply,

So that you are more able to deal with anything and everything.

So that you are able to recognize opportunities and feel confident to move towards them.

Life improves while you sleep and rest.

So drift off now into sleep.

Knowing that you are doing the best thing possible for the future you,

The you of tomorrow.

That you waiting will be grateful for the choices you have made here and now.

It's time to drift off.

To float down.

To sleep deeply.

So sleep well,

This is a great meditation. Itโ€™s beautiful, and I love the background music and everything about it. One person mentioned a scratch. It took me many listens before one night I had bad insomnia and heard enough of the recording to hear it at the end. With luck youโ€™ll be asleep before that, I usually am.

Iโ€™m almost ๐Ÿ˜ถ speechless. But let me try. This was the most intense (good) sleep session Iโ€™ve heard on Insight Timer. Itโ€™s long, but I liked that. She stayed with me through the whole thing. Iโ€™ve never relaxed my body and breathing so far and so deeply. I didnโ€™t sleep at the end but I was in the most deeply sound rest state ever. Really. (I guess I found the words!)
