This guided meditation is designed to strengthen and harmonize the large intestine function energy. This practise can help balance elimination issues, either constipation or diarrhoea, and can also ease irritable bowel syndrome and other issues related with the intestines and colon. Imbued with the influence of Taurus ~ "I Have", this practice brings equilibrium to the holding-on-to and letting-go-of in body and mind. This meditation may also help overcome sadness, and process loss. Through specific hand placements, pulse-listening, and mindful breathing, you'll energize and balance the large intestine function energy. This meditation is perfect for anyone seeking to improve intestinal health. This practise is intended to be a compliment to, and not a replacement for, modern medical treatment. If you have intestinal issues, seek a qualified gastroenterologist.

Hi,

This is Jeremy.

Welcome to this guided meditation where we're going to help support and harmonize the large intestine function energy.

This is a good meditation to help balance elimination issues,

Either diarrhea or constipation.

It can help ease irritable bowel syndrome and abdominal discomforts,

And generally aids in the process of loss and letting go.

This practice is most comfortable when you're lying down or reclining,

Although technically you could do it sitting or standing,

But for now,

Let's find a place to lay down or recline.

Maybe get some pillows to support your arms or head.

We are going to begin by making a loop with our left index finger and thumb.

With your left index finger and thumb,

Make a loop and place the pad of your thumb on top of the index fingernail.

This is similar to the yogic gyan mudra,

Where the tips of the index finger and thumb are touching,

But we want a more direct connection to the large intestine meridian that begins in the index finger.

So place the pad of your thumb on the index fingernail.

The large intestine meridian flows down the back of the arm,

Across the shoulder,

Into the right face and into the right cheekbone.

So with your right hand,

Place it on your right neck,

Right where the neck and shoulder come together,

And your fingers will be just reaching around towards your spine.

And you can touch the most prominent vertebrae,

Probably thoracic one,

Just on the right side there.

Feel around and you may find a little tender spot,

Something more sensitive than everywhere else.

And if you do,

Just intentionally connect with that spot.

You don't need to press or dig into it.

Just make a nice intentional connection.

If you don't feel a specific sore area,

Just simply rest your right hand there on your neck with your fingers touching the spine.

And then we're going to begin to relax.

Relax your arms and hands as much as possible.

You can close your eyes,

Relax your toes and legs,

Soften your face,

Relax your jaw,

Keeping your lips together,

But teeth apart.

We're going to breathe in and out through our nose,

Just noticing your breath rise and fall.

And we're going to accentuate our energy by deepening our breath.

So as you begin exhaling and emptying your lungs,

When you get to the bottom of your breath,

You can blow out a little bit more,

Emptying your lungs completely.

As the more you empty,

The more fresh,

Abundant breath you can receive,

Filling your lungs to capacity,

Gently and slowly,

Without much effort.

Slow,

Deep breathing tells your nervous system that you're safe.

Exhaling completely,

Emptying your lungs so you can receive a fresh,

Abundant breath.

And while we're breathing deeply and completely,

And slowly and gently,

We can listen to the pulse of life,

Where our right hand is placed and in our left index finger and thumb.

And you can just listen deeply within.

Notice any differences or similarities within the pulse.

Maybe you can feel one area better than the other.

Maybe you can feel them both,

But they're beating out of rhythm.

We're simply going to listen to the pulse as we continue breathing deeply and exhaling completely,

Until the pulse is beating rhythm with each other.

This energetic connection to the large intestine function energy is helping all process of loss and letting go.

Once you notice the pulses beating in rhythm with each other,

You can move your right hand to your right cheekbone,

Just touching the tips of your fingers on your right cheekbone.

At the very peak.

And relaxing your hand.

Exhaling completely.

Breathing deeply.

And listening to the pulse.

If you have chronic issues within your large intestine or colon,

You may also want to reverse your hands and apply this on the other side.

So you make a loop with your right index finger and thumb,

Covering your index fingernail,

And then placing your left hand on your left neck.

Touching the spine.

Listening for the pulse.

And when the pulses beat in rhythm with each other,

You can move your left hand to your left cheekbone.

And this is something that I would encourage you every day,

Maybe when you get into bed for the evening,

If you remember when you wake up in the morning.

As the cumulative effects of a daily practice harmonizing this energy meridian will compound over time.

Now you have a simple and powerful meditation to specifically help with any intestinal projects you may be working with.

Thank you for joining me for this meditation.

Namaste.

Thank you, I wish there was some pictures to show how to place the hands. It was a bit difficult for me to follow along.
