This guided practice for sleep includes binaural beats. Binaural beats have been shown to assist in overcoming sleep difficulties, increase states of relaxation and have significant overall health benefits. A binaural beat is the frequency difference between the waves entering the left & right ear. This difference in frequency means your brain processes a beat at the difference of the frequencies. It is preferable to use headphones and make sure you are lying down comfortably.

Welcome to Binaural Beat guided meditation into sleep.

Take a nice comfortable position,

Lying down on a comfortable surface.

We will start by taking three deep breaths.

I will be guiding you through them.

Let us start by taking a nice deep inhale through your nose and then exhaling through the mouth all the way to the end of the breath.

Nice and comfortable.

You will notice that there will be a slight pause between the inhale and the exhale.

Follow my lead.

Breathing normally now.

Simply allowing yourself in your own way and time to be carried away.

Enjoying yourself to let go of any unnecessary tension,

Anything that might be bothering you.

This is the moment to gradually allow it to be released through every natural exhale.

Without any conscious intervention.

Representing a deeper release.

In this moment,

You find yourself reconnecting with your body through the breath.

Naturally.

Now bring your mind's attention to the tips of your toes.

Relax your toes by allowing them to move very gently.

Notice the sensation as you allow them to move.

And then stop.

Let them go.

And notice the difference.

And now bring your attention to your feet and legs.

Notice their position.

Allow them to sway gently from side to side.

Notice their movement.

Now allow your head to sway gently from side to side.

Perhaps at the same time as your legs and feet.

A very slow rhythm that is comfortable to you.

Allowing the sway of these parts of your body to continue for as long as it feels comfortable.

Sooner or later.

You can notice how the comfortable swaying motion will gently cease as your body begins to enter into a deeper state of comfort and ease.

There is nothing else of importance for you to do.

Just allow yourself to be gently carried away in your own way and time.

Very gently.

Become aware of your heartbeat.

Notice where you can experience your heartbeat the most.

Is it in your chest?

Your throat?

Your mouth?

Your mouth?

Your mouth?

Your mouth?

Your mouth?

What about your feet?

Can you notice your heart beating in your feet?

And as you do so,

In a moment you will hear me count down from 10 to 1.

Each descending number will help you to become more rested than you are now.

There is simply no limit to how comfortable you can become.

As you continue listening,

You go deeper and deeper in your own way and time.

It's already.

As the mind relaxes,

You go deeper and deeper.

Drifting deeper and deeper.

5.

Becoming aware of the space between each word.

The space between each thought drifting through your mind.

Between every thought lies comfort,

Safety,

Ease.

2.

Gently carried away into deep comfort,

The space between thoughts giving you space.

The space is already there.

It is already here.

Allow yourself to be within the space.

More.

And more.

So much that there will be moments you may no longer be aware of yourself as you become one with the space.

I went to sleep during this, after having been unable to fall asleep. His voice is soothing. I appreciated the connection between moving the body and the movements in the mind.
