Look at what is already here, has always been here and has never arrived or departed. See what is free of the body with its pleasures and pain, free of the mind with its torments and joy, and see that we are that freedom. Stay where it's free. This guided meditation is the seventh part in the Exercising Divine Laziness series, an experiential adjunct to themes explored in Jeremy's book Divine Laziness: The Art of Living Effortlessly.

Relax into this.

Rest in this posture.

Just sitting here.

Just standing here.

Just lying here.

However this is,

Is fine.

Just relax into this.

Feel this.

This body.

This mind.

This being.

Just be here.

Bring attention to the body.

Resting here.

Bring attention to the mind.

As it does what it does.

As it comes and goes.

As it makes a world.

Whatever it is,

Is fine.

It's just like this.

It can't be any other way.

This is how it is.

Right now,

It's like this.

Rest the tension in the body.

Feel it.

Touch it.

Experience it.

How is this body,

As it sits here,

Or stands here,

Or lies here?

How is it?

What is it?

Regardless of whether it feels good or bad,

This is how it is.

So feel it.

Notice what is happening.

Find something to hold attention on.

And keep it there.

Just watch.

Just feel.

Just hold.

Behold the mind as it enters the scene.

As it paints its pictures.

As it builds for us a world.

This world.

Just watch and hold.

Touch and feel it.

See it happen.

Let it happen.

It's all fine.

However it is,

Is fine.

Let it be.

Just watch.

See.

Feel.

Notice.

Notice how all of that is shifting,

Changing,

Moving moment to moment.

It all comes and goes as it does.

Notice how as it comes and goes,

This body,

This mind,

We remain whole,

Untouched,

Unmoved,

Unhelped,

Unharmed by any of it.

Notice this.

As feelings in the body,

As movements in the mind arise and pass away,

As they come and go,

We remain untouched,

Unharmed,

Unhelped.

Notice how this has always been the case.

What we are is the same now as it was last night as we slept.

Last week.

Last year.

When we were five years old.

A thousand years before we were born.

This that I call me has been here all along.

As the storms of the body and the mind have raged around us.

None of it has touched this me at all.

Here we are free from all of it.

Free from the body and its pleasure and pain.

Free from the mind and its torments and joys.

Free from the comings and goings of this world as it's built up and torn down around us.

Free from all of it.

Find that freedom.

It's not something new.

Look for what is always here.

It doesn't come or go,

This freedom.

It is already always the case.

Bring attention to what is always here.

What has never arrived.

What can never leave.

Bring attention to this.

No matter what comes and goes within us.

We see it.

We know it.

Therefore we cannot be it.

So see and know.

Be the seeing.

Be the knowing.

This is what we are.

This is freedom from all of it.

And this is what we are.

Remain here in freedom.

Stay where it's free.

Just watch as body and mind,

As world comes and goes.

And stay where it's free.

Stay where it's free.

Stay where it's free.
