Welcome to your Connecting with Land Spirits meditation for the summer solstice.
My name is Jenny Siebel and I am the author of Spirit Crystals,
Discover Your Crystal Guide for Healing and Empowerment and I'm also the host of our coven.
I've been a witch for over 30 years and this meditation can really be done any time of year but summer solstice seems to be one of the best times to be outside.
So this meditation you do need to be outdoors somewhere where you can be touching the earth.
So if you want to have your back up against a tree and your shoes on or your bare feet out on the grass or the dirt but you need to be somewhere outside where you feel comfortable touching some part of nature and feel safe to either relax your gaze or close your eyes.
So if you need to pause and get yourself outside in a place we'll wait and we'll do that.
Okay so I invite you for this meditation like I said to either be sitting with your back up against a tree,
You can be laying in the grass,
You can be with your feet bare.
We really want to be touching the earth below so that you can do your best to connect with the spirits of the land that are there.
So land spirits are elementals.
Sometimes they are spirits of trees,
Plants,
Stones,
Crystals,
Herbs,
Flowers.
Sometimes they are ancestors of the land.
Sometimes they are spirits of the land and in this meditation you're just going to allow yourself to be open to connect with who is there.
If at any point you feel the energy doesn't feel right to you or you don't feel safe just open your eyes and call on some guide that you trust.
So if you work with a guardian angel or a deity or a spirit guide or an ancestor just call on them to make sure that you are safe and that the land spirits you're connecting with are of the highest and the best intention.
We will say that prayer but if any moment you feel unsafe please pause and do that.
Okay we are outside and I invite you to close your eyes and relax your gaze and I want you to take a deep breath and let it go and the first thing I want you to do is start to listen to the sounds around you.
You may have a neighbor using like a leaf blower,
You may hear buzzing insects but you're going to take a moment to hear the sounds of the land.
Next I want you to notice the temperature.
Is there a wind?
Is there sunshine?
Is the ground beneath you cool or warm?
If you're touching a tree is it feel warm or cool to touch?
So really allow yourself to feel the temperature.
Next I invite you to feel the texture.
So if your feet are bare what's the bare earth feel like?
If you're leaning against a tree what does that feel like?
If you're laying in the grass maybe run your fingers over the grass.
Start to allow yourself to feel the texture of the earth below you.
Next I invite you to notice any smells.
Do you smell a flower or a tree?
Do you smell rain coming?
Right some of us can sense that smell.
What do you smell?
Next we're going to say your prayer and I invite you to say the prayer aloud if you feel comfortable.
If you don't you can say it in your head and you can just repeat after me.
Thank you Mother Earth for holding me safe.
I thank the land spirits and I honor them.
I thank the animals of the land.
I thank the ancestors of the land.
I thank the crystals and the stones of the land.
I thank the plants trees and flowers of the land.
I honor the elementals and the elements.
I honor earth.
I honor fire.
I honor water.
I honor air.
I honor the land spirits.
I am here to connect.
I'm open to connection and I'm here to listen.
Now I want you to I want you to do the same thing we just did,
Right?
So first I want you to listen for any sounds and then I want you if you want to you may open your eyes and start to gaze around you and I want you to notice the plant life around you.
I want you to notice the colors around you.
I want you to notice any animals that you might see and you can leave your eyes open you can close them.
I want you to notice smells and I want you to notice the texture and the feel of the earth around you.
The temperature,
The air,
The wind and then I invite you to close your eyes if they're not already closed.
Take some deep breaths and allow a connection to happen.
How do we do this?
We become receptive.
So you might want to open the palms of your hands and face them to the sky.
You might want to let yourself fully relax.
You might want to really step into your body,
The present moment and just allow what is there to come to you,
To arise and this could be just a sense that someone is with you.
It could be that you see a color,
A symbol,
You might hear a song or a snippet of conversation.
You may really feel nothing and that's okay too because you can always return to this but I'm gonna be quiet and I invite you to really just be present and connect with whatever land spirits are there.
Don't second-guess yourself.
Don't panic if you don't see or hear or feel anything.
Let thoughts come and go.
If you're asking yourself am I doing it right?
You are.
If you get nervous you can open your eyes and take some deep breaths and if you want you can repeat I am open to connecting with the land spirits.
I honor the land spirits and I invite you to pause this meditation and do this for as long as you want.
It may feel very peaceful and it may take a while for a connection to happen.
Another option is to bring a journal and just ask the land spirits to inspire you and start to write and see what comes.
But I will leave you here now.
I do recommend that after you do this that you offer your land spirits something in return.
Could be a bowl of water,
Could be a little bowl of honey,
It could be that you pick up some trash in your neighborhood,
It could be that you water the plants,
Could be that you cut away some debris,
Could be that you walk the earth around you just giving thanks.
You want to give some kind of offering even if you didn't feel a connection because that's how you begin the relationship,
Right?
Sometimes we have to try a few times and really offer a lot of love before a connection can happen.
But feel free to do this again and pause and do this for as long as you need.
Thank you.
Blessed Be.
