Autumn Meditation: Release
Jenny has been a witch for almost three decades and created this Autumn or Mabon guided meditation for witches and non-witches alike. This is the beginning of entering the darkness on the wheel of the year. Let's began to celebrate this time to release with a simple tree visualization.
Transcript
Welcome to this autumn meditation for letting go or releasing.
My name is Jenny Seibel.
I'm the author of Spirit Crystals,
Discover Your Crystal Guide for Healing and Empowerment,
And the host of our coven.
In this meditation,
I will be guiding you through visualization.
And so if you're not a visual person,
The way to accommodate this is every time I encourage you to see or visualize,
I would like you to get a sense of how that would feel in your body,
Or what that feel like on your skin,
Or how you would feel emotionally.
So feeling or sensing in that way is an alternative for seeing and visualizing.
This meditation is a little bit deeper.
So you might want to have a journal nearby at the end to record your thoughts,
Feelings and what you saw.
Because we will be imagining ourselves as a tree,
I think it's best to do this meditation standing or sitting with upright spine.
But of course,
If your body doesn't feel comfortable doing that,
Then by all means,
Lay down,
But I do think it does help.
So up to you.
I invite you now to get comfortable and take a deep breath and kind of like sigh it out or blow it out through your lips and then close your eyes.
Now I want you to just for a moment tap into your own body and see if you can just make yourself like 25% more comfortable.
So that could mean getting a cushion could mean rolling your shoulders,
It could be you know what I do want to stand or I do want to lay down.
So take a moment,
Make sure you're as comfortable as you can be,
We won't be here long.
And then if your eyes aren't already closed,
Close them,
Take a deep breath,
Let it out again slowly.
And then let yourself just kind of be here now,
Let whatever happened earlier today,
Just let it go.
Put your to do list aside and clear out whatever is on your mind if thoughts come up,
Let them go.
Take another deep breath.
And then ask you to continue to breathe as deeply as you can,
Right,
That is feel comfortable.
So especially if you could breathe through your belly.
So taking belly breaths,
Balloon breaths,
So filling your belly with air,
And then slowly letting it out.
And you know,
Just slow,
Even breaths,
You don't have to count them.
Just start to really like,
Make sure you're breathing,
Right?
A lot of us hold our breath throughout the day,
And we breathe shallow.
So we're just taking a moment to make sure we're breathing deeply.
In a moment,
I'm going to count backwards from five.
And when I do so,
When I get to the last number of one,
I would like you to see sense and visualize yourself in a forest.
And this could be a forest you've been to,
It could be an imaginary forest,
It could be one you've seen in a movie,
But we're going to be in a forest on the count of five to one.
So take a deep breath,
Make sure your eyes are closed.
In five,
You're starting to shift,
Four,
Your mind is starting to go to the forest,
Three,
Two,
One.
You're in a forest.
And it's absolutely beautiful.
It's,
You feel safe,
You are safe,
You're getting a sense of magic and wonder being here.
You are not alone,
Because there are plants and trees and animals,
But there are no other people.
And you have it all to yourself,
And it's quiet.
And there's a path before you,
Just a soft meandering path.
And you're going to follow it until you find a large tree that you connect with,
That you feel is beautiful,
And it could be any kind of tree.
So we're going to walk down the path,
Noticing plants and animals as you go.
And you're going to end up finding a tree.
Okay,
You're at this tree.
And I just want you to look at it.
How big is it?
How tall is it?
How wide is it?
Are there leaves?
If so,
What color are the flowers?
Are there is there fruit?
Just notice your tree.
While you're looking at the tree,
You're going to notice a door on the trunk of the tree.
And it's only for you.
You're going to put your hands on the door,
And it opens.
And you're going to step inside.
And as you step inside,
You become the tree.
You leave your human body,
And you merge with the energy of the tree.
You suddenly have strong roots in the ground that are connected with the mycelium to the other trees.
You have these branches and these twigs that feel strong,
And they sway and they move.
You have this sense of being ancient and wise and connected to the ground and the forest and the animals.
You have a sense of being connected to the seasons.
And you have a sense of being balanced and healthy as this tree.
And this tree has a few things it needs to let go of.
It could be leaves,
It could be branches,
It could be fruit.
But it has some things that it just needs to drop.
And trees need to drop things from time to time.
And you're going to see and sense what it is you need to drop at this time.
So as you are yourself and the tree as one,
What are the things in your life you need to let go of?
Is it a certain thing on the to do list?
Is it a certain idea?
Is it a certain habit?
Is it a way of being?
Is it an old thought or story?
What is it that needs to be dropped?
And you may think of one thing,
You may think of five things.
But take a moment and just see and sense and feel the tree is helping you.
Because the trees really,
Trees are really good at dropping just what doesn't serve them.
They make the fruit,
They let it go.
Their leaves turn,
They let it go.
They're very good at letting things go because they know that it's all a cycle.
And next year,
They'll have new things and new feelings and new fruits and new leaves.
So what is it that you need to let go of to make room for something else?
So take a moment and think about that.
And I'll be quiet while you think about what needs to be let go of.
And then I want you on the count of three to let go of these things that aren't serving you.
You're going to feel them as yourself and as a tree and you're going to see and sense them hit the ground.
So we're going to let go of things at one,
Two,
Three.
And then take a deep breath and know that you feel lighter,
That this is good to let go of.
These were things that were holding you back.
And they were just part of the cycle that you just need to let go of things from time to time.
I want you to get a sense of being the tree one more time unburdened and more free.
And then I want you to notice the door is opening again,
And it's time for you to return to your human form and let go of emerging with the tree.
Take a moment first to thank this tree and know that you can return to this tree anytime you need.
And then we're going to walk through the door on the count of three and you'll be outside on the path again.
One,
Two,
Three.
You're through the door and on the path and you're going to start walking down the path noticing that you feel lighter and happier and more free,
More balanced for this autumn equinox.
And I'm going to count us back down from five to one and you'll be back in the room back in your body.
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
You're back in the here and now.
Slowly feel the temperature of the room around you.
Maybe let a smile come on your lips.
Open your eyes.
And you may want to journal about what it is that you needed to let go of.
And I hope you have a wonderful equinox.
