Welcome.

Today's practice will be to guide you from your head down into your body.

We're going to be working on developing and cultivating a sense of body awareness.

This will help you to know yourself on a deeper level and be able to communicate with your body whenever you wish.

So all we're going to do today is travel around the body with our awareness,

Connecting in with different places as we go,

And sort of opening up a dialogue between the body and the mind.

Because the body speaks to us through sensation.

It doesn't say I'm hungry,

Your stomach starts to gurgle and rumble.

It doesn't say I'm tired,

Your eyelids start sinking.

So as we tune in here today,

We'll begin this journey of living in harmony as a thriving team with your body.

So I'll invite you,

Wherever you are,

To just get comfortable.

Give yourself a moment here to settle in.

Maybe you want to move a little,

Stretch a little.

Give yourself a little wiggle,

And eventually you will come to a resting place.

And when you find yourself there,

Can you maybe start to feel yourself sinking down,

Letting gravity pull your shoulders away from your ears,

Letting your legs start to release into the surface that holds you up,

Letting your jaw get closer to your shoulders,

Sinking down away from your temples.

And as you find yourself gently settling,

Perhaps you might take a couple of deep breaths here,

In through your nose into your belly,

And as you take these breaths,

See if you can notice the air touching your nose on its way in and out.

And now,

Perhaps you might bring your awareness down to your belly,

Noticing as the breath flows in through your nose that your belly starts to expand even just a little.

Just becoming aware of that sensation of your body gently opening and then softening.

And if you notice that your awareness pops back up to your head and your thoughts and mind,

That's okay,

Totally normal.

Maybe just see if you can focus back on a place in your body.

We'll keep calling our awareness to the sensations that are here.

Next,

Maybe see if you can notice your feet,

Noticing your toes,

Your heels,

Noticing your ankles,

And maybe even becoming aware of the surface that your feet might be.

Can you bring a sense of curiosity here?

There is no right or wrong.

This is where your body is and how it's existing in this moment.

See if you can notice your knees,

Bringing your awareness to your right knee,

To your left knee.

You might even see if you can send some breath down in the direction of both of your knees.

And then just noticing,

Becoming aware of your hips,

Being curious,

Do they feel grounded,

Soft,

Clenching?

What sensations are you aware of when you tune into your hips?

Sending a breath to meet your hips.

And noticing your belly next.

Perhaps you want to bring a hand to this place,

To your belly button.

And as you breathe into your belly,

What sensations do you notice here?

Does it feel settled or stirred up?

Is there calmness or is there busyness?

Can you welcome whatever is here and say hello?

And next,

Just moving up to your chest.

Your chest,

Your solar plexus,

All the way through your center line.

Tuning in,

Bringing your awareness here to this place in your body.

What's here in this moment?

What are you aware of?

Remember,

There's no wrong if things in your chest feel busy,

Tight,

Constricted.

All of it's okay.

Can we bring the energy of openness to whatever is here?

And then just taking these last few moments here to see if there's any other place in your body that might be speaking to you in this moment.

Look around for other sensations.

And whatever you find,

Let's take final few breaths here.

Beautiful,

You just had a conversation with your body.

As we continue this practice,

May your connection deepen.

And may your body become a great ally in you leading a heart-centered,

Self-trusting life.
