In this global pandemic, there is a continued experience of uncertainty; as it relates to our finances, health, and the health of our family. It is natural for this time to bring worry and anxiety, and in this meditation, I want to allow a little space for that to be here. We may want to get rid of those feelings and they also have an important part in moving through this experience into new possibilities. "The Inner Calling" composed by Music Of Wisdom

This is a practice of finding rest in uncertainty.

Along with the global pandemic,

There is an increased awareness of uncertainty.

What we don't know,

If we will be okay through all of this,

Our finances,

Considering our own health and the health of our families.

Of course it's natural for this time to bring worry and anxiety.

And in this meditation,

I want to allow a little space for that to be here.

It's natural to want to get rid of those feelings.

But they have an important part in us moving through this experience to new possibilities.

In this practice,

We will tune into not knowing where life is taking us and lean into a certain trust that we will be guided to the best outcome without knowing what it is or how to get there.

This is similar to driving somewhere in the dark and we can just see what is in front of us.

Yet we can still find our way.

So begin to find a comfortable position.

Either sitting or lying down.

Bring awareness to your feet on the floor.

And your body and its contact points as you sit or lie down.

And notice the support here that's offered through these contact points.

And let them be an anchor to this moment.

And as you allow yourself to settle here,

Notice if it would feel good to place a hand somewhere.

And if you do,

Feel into the warmth of your hand.

Begin to notice your breath.

Allowing your belly to soften.

And give yourself permission to do this your way.

And continue to breathe as you allow this softening.

Notice what the inhale feels like.

Just allowing the breath to take place on its own.

Keep your awareness on the inbreath as you continue to breathe.

And now shift your awareness to the outbreath.

Allowing the breath to let go as you exhale.

That's it.

Just continue noticing the outbreath as you breathe.

And as you settle further into this moment,

See if you can allow everything to exist here.

Thoughts.

Feelings.

Sensations.

Whatever is here in this uncertain time.

That's it.

Just let yourself be here,

Knowing that in this moment,

You are safe.

Notice that there's a part of your body that's holding the experience of uncertainty.

Just see if it's located somewhere.

Maybe attention or sensation.

It could be located in the neck or shoulders.

Maybe your stomach.

Just have a look.

And see what that experience is like for you.

And let's hold that experience together.

Keeping your awareness there without trying to fix it.

And see if there are any feelings that go with this maybe,

Some worry,

An unsettled feeling.

Maybe anxiety.

Let's just notice that together.

And let's hold this experience as if it's being held in a soft and warm light.

That's it.

Have a look again and see what is there now without trying to fix it.

Imagine yourself sitting on the side of a river,

Watching it go by.

Just notice what that feels like,

Watching the river without trying to change it or figure it out.

Just notice it go by as you sit on the bank.

And just check in again.

And see if some more space has opened up here.

Notice what's emerging.

Notice the quality of awareness that's arising.

That's it.

Notice the spaciousness here.

And let yourself rest here in this space.

Feel into the support of the spaciousness.

And just rest here for a few minutes.

Good night.

Start to bring your awareness back to your breath.

Noticing how your breath happens on its own.

Noticing the movement in your body as you breathe.

Bringing your awareness back into the space where you are sitting.

Just allowing yourself to return at your own pace.

And if it feels good for you,

You can bring movement back into your body with a stretch or a wiggle of your toes.

And just notice from this experience how there can be a loss of trust in this feeling of uncertainty if we can allow enough space for it to be here.

There can be room for something else to emerge.

And with this,

Creativity and possibility can come through.
