A short talk on how we can strengthen our energy, direct our focus and become more resilient. Qi is believed to play a vital role in maintaining physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Concentrating our qi (chi) helps to balance and enhance our energy flow.

I was doing my Qigong class,

As usual,

This morning,

And the instructor said,

Hold your qi.

And that was one of those aha moments,

You know,

It's like,

I gotta go write this down.

But then I continued to stay there and continue with the practice.

And I find that's the way my mind works quite often is like when I'm relaxing my body,

Or you know,

You're in the shower,

Or you're driving,

Or you're mowing the lawn,

Or some other random moment,

And an inspiration comes to you,

And you get this rush,

Like you got to act on it right away,

And you got to do something or write it down.

And it's usually when our mind most relaxed,

When we're focused on other things,

We create that space that allows the inspiration to flow.

And this is such wonderful practice in our lives to cultivate that spaciousness so that we can act when inspiration hits.

And that's when we get to create the greatest impact.

But going back to this idea of holding the qi,

I love that because we don't want to like hold it in as in like we're holding our breath or becoming rigid or contained in such a way that we don't share that life force energy,

That breath,

But we hold it in so that we can strengthen it so that we can be in our center.

And it helped me to reflect on something else I've been contemplating about recently,

About staying internal and facing externally.

So not getting swept up by the currents of the news and the to do list and the next thing that you need to get to,

Right?

We're so often attached to our future or to the past,

That we overlook the present and the strength and the power that is present in this moment of now.

And to hold that in our awareness,

In our attention and intention so that we can be stronger in our center and move from a place that is more solid,

Being more solid in our being and being able to move from that strength in the fullness of who we are so that we can have more strength and resilience to deal with those currents and the next to do's and all the obligations that we may have,

Responsibilities that we feel that we need to tend to from a strong place,

From a place that doesn't throw us off track or make us anxious or depressed or fearful,

That we get to move from a place of love,

Love being an acronym for lots of vital energy.

And that's what it means to hold that chi,

To hold that life force energy,

Reserving it,

Conserving it and knowing when like to actually practice discernment on when best to use that,

What to direct your time and energy towards.

So just a little food for thought today that I wanted to share with you and would love to know your thoughts on that.

Thank you so much for listening.
