My name is Jennifer and I'm so happy that you could join me for this heart opening meditation.
By bringing a mindful and curious attention to the heart,
We can tune into what brings it joy and warmth and perhaps add more of those things into our daily life.
And we can also notice when the heart is closed and where we may be withholding love from parts of ourselves or others.
And as we continue to practice heart awareness,
We can encourage our love,
Compassion and kindness to flow more freely and grow the capacity to remain open hearted even during the hardest of moments.
Enjoy.
Beginning to find a comfortable seated position and gently closing your eyes if they aren't already.
Just taking your time to find the perfect balance between relaxation and receptivity.
Taking a deep breath in,
Filling the lungs and the belly and a slow conscious exhale releasing and letting go.
Again inhale deeply and exhale feeling the sensations of letting go.
And just allowing your breath to return to its natural rhythm,
Its natural pace.
Continuing to soften and relax.
Trying to turn your awareness towards your heart.
Noticing how it feels,
How it is expressing itself.
Is it soft or heavy?
Open or closed?
Maybe this is the first time you've checked in with your heart in a while.
So just really offering a gentle inquiry into what is here.
You may ask yourself,
How does my heart feel?
And if you're having trouble feeling anything,
That's okay too.
Just allowing that to be part of your experience.
Maybe finding a space closest to the heart that you can feel.
And with each breath resting deeper into the heart space.
Resettling right above the heart.
We're softening deeply into the back of the heart.
Maybe allowing the awareness to fill the whole heart space,
Feeling all sides at once.
And just noticing how you feel resting here.
Maybe it feels natural and relaxing.
Maybe there's a touch of resistance or reluctance.
And if there is,
That's okay too.
Just receiving this moment with a gentle and loving awareness.
Remembering we're not here to judge or to change.
We are simply here to notice and honor the heart and all that it holds.
Now starting to imagine something that you love.
Something that calls the heart to open,
To expand.
Maybe it's a person that you deeply love.
Your baby,
Partner,
Friend.
Or even an animal.
Maybe you love nature and the sun.
And so imagine being outside and feeling the warm rays of the sun on your face.
Or maybe you think of a passion of yours,
Something you really love to do.
Or a memory that pulls on your heartstrings.
And as you hold this image in your mind and your heart,
Just allowing yourself to fully feel the experience of love.
Notice the thing if you feel warmth or tingling,
Calmness or ease.
And just starting to imagine those feelings grow.
Sensing that the heart is so open that these feelings are pouring out of it and into your body.
And as you rest effortlessly in the body,
In the heart,
Still softening and relaxing,
Opening and expanding.
Repeat in your mind,
My heart is open.
I love myself fully and completely.
I choose to see myself and others with compassion and kindness.
I give my energy to the things that bring me joy and peace.
It is safe for me to open my heart even when it's hard.
I give and receive love effortlessly.
I wash my wounds with love.
I choose to see the good in others and myself.
My heart is open.
Take a deep breath in and let it all go.
Place your hand on your heart and offer yourself a moment of gratitude,
Of appreciation,
Of love.
When you're ready,
Starting to bring your awareness back into the room and gently open your eyes and allow yourself to begin this moment with an open and loving heart.
