Today,

I want to guide you through a short centering meditation.

There's a lot of fear and uncertainty in the world right now.

All we can do is center ourselves in our light and in love.

By centering in light and love,

We have the capability to face these fears head on.

By allowing compassion and kindness to always be our guiding light,

We can weather these difficult times.

So find a place to get comfortable.

You can sit in a chair and lie down.

You can even do this walking if you'd like.

When beginning meditation practice,

It can be helpful to start in a quiet place.

But eventually,

We want to be able to have the access to our inner being at any time,

Any place,

No matter what is going on around us.

So if you're comfortable,

Just close your eyes.

Or if you're doing this walking,

You can look at your feet as you walk or you can put your gaze out on the horizon in a soft awareness to what's going on around you.

Take a moment to feel into your inner experience.

What do you feel in your body?

Do you feel any tension?

Do you feel a heaviness,

Sadness?

Whatever you feel,

It's okay.

We're not here to judge.

Take a deep breath and exhale.

And inhale and exhale.

If you notice your thoughts start to arise,

Again,

That's totally okay.

But as soon as you notice that your mind has lost the awareness and you begin to focus on thoughts,

Just quietly and lovingly bring your attention back to the breath.

If you find it helpful,

You can chant a mantra.

This can be useful to give your brain a little bit of activity to keep it busy,

But it can also be very powerful in centering.

Breathe in light and send out love.

Breathe in light and send out love.

Deliberately try to soften your jaw,

Relax your muscles.

Just be aware of where the tension is,

Where it's manifesting.

And if you find it hard to release that tension,

That's okay.

Just continue to be with your breath.

Center yourself.

By visualizing you have a light within you,

You can place your hand on your heart and feel this light within you.

You are okay.

You are loved.

You are worthy of love.

You are enough just as you are.

Breathe in and breathe out.

Breathe in and breathe out.

And slowly start to return to your body.

Wiggle your fingers and your toes.

As you go out into your day,

Bring forth this light to all who you encounter.

Be compassionate and loving,

Not only with those that you meet,

But also with yourself.

You can open your eyes and remember that this light always shines within you.

Breathe in and breathe out.
