This meditation guides you to look into pain without any resistance and inner stories that we weave around it. Look into how pain mellows down when we calm our minds and allow pain to become sensation rather than our identity. Background music "Health tree" by Alex Witt from Pixabay.

Hello,

My name is Yelena Fu and today's meditation aims to help you with pain and discomfort.

Simply,

It is a human condition to experience different kinds of pain and discomfort throughout our lives.

It may be psychological,

Physical,

Emotional or even mental.

Throughout our lives,

A lot of difficulty with pain and discomfort comes from our reaction to the pain,

From our resistance to the pain and from all the stories that we weave around the pain and discomfort.

So today,

We are going to work on releasing those stories and releasing our resistance and facing the pain without the inner story or any other background.

So let's take a deep breath and exhale slowly to relax our body for a couple of moments.

Few more breaths like this.

Allow your mind to be empty.

Do not try to focus on anything in particular.

Just allow your mind to be free.

If you notice any sensations or pain or discomfort or any thoughts come or feelings or sounds,

Just acknowledge them and go back to feeling free and empty.

And now slowly bring into your awareness the pain or discomfort that you're going through at the moment.

Allow it to appear on its own.

And notice if you're trying to hide away from it or to push it in some way.

Try to notice that resistance that's there.

It may come as thoughts or you might flinch or something in your body might feel differently.

And when you notice what your mind or body is doing or emotions that come up,

Simply with a deep inhale and slow exhale,

Let it go.

Keep letting go of resistance.

What is your pain or discomfort like without this resistance?

Try not to label your pain.

Try to simply feel it as sensation.

That may be uncomfortable but it's just sensation.

And notice as well the feelings that come up together with the pain.

You might feel sadness or anger,

Frustration,

Anxiety,

Worry,

Fear.

A lot of unpleasant emotions accompany our pain.

Allow those emotions to show up and allow them to be there in your body.

Just notice them without pushing or on them,

Forcing them.

Let them flow freely through your body and slowly let them go.

All the emotions attached to your pain can go freely.

Simply allow them to pass through your body,

Through your energy field and release them.

Now check in with your pain that is free from emotional baggage.

Does it feel somehow lighter,

Easier?

And notice how your mind is working and coming up with a lot of stories about your pain,

A lot of scenarios,

A lot of what ifs.

Simply notice what your mind is doing there.

Be an observer of your inner talk rather than getting involved.

Notice how the mind works with those emotions and just might push some of those back.

Just notice and notice then how again the mind affects your body and you might be flinching or twisting or feeling discomfort.

As you step back mentally and don't engage your thoughts,

You will notice how the emotions and the sensations also tend to mellow down.

And how is your pain now when you take the stories out of equation?

Is the pain becoming lighter,

More mellow,

More bearable?

If you allow the pain and discomfort to be just as it is without stories,

Without resistance,

Without your emotions,

What does it feel like?

Even if it's just for a second,

Allow your pain to be free.

Notice how that pain is also something that you can observe,

Something in the mind of the observer.

How it appears in the vast field of your awareness.

How your pain is not you,

Your discomfort is not you.

And how everything feels when you're able to stay in that field of awareness.

And slowly now bring attention back again to your body,

To how it feels to allow yourself to integrate the effects of this meditation.

And notice your environment,

Where you are,

Your body posture.

Gently stretch and wiggle your toes,

Your fingers and come back from the meditation.

I hope you're feeling better,

That your pain is subsiding and that this meditation is able to help you with pain and discomfort management.

Thank you for meditating with me.

Namaste.
