I invite you to engage in a deep, heart-centered practice of metta meditation, cultivating love and compassion for yourself and others. This meditation encourages you to radiate kindness from the core of your being, expanding your awareness beyond the self. As you move through this session, you will discover how such small acts of inner kindness can ripple out, positively impacting your work, relationships, and life. Set an intention to show up with empathy and connection for the week ahead.

Okay,

Close your eyes,

Come into a comfortable seated position and assume a posture of dignity,

Stability and ease.

And just take a few deep breaths.

Attempt to arrive here almost instantly.

This is your time to be present to the mind,

The very vehicle through which we comprehend what is real and true,

What is possible and beautiful.

This one wondrous mind.

And a moment I will lead us through a wondrous version of meditation which is a loving,

Loving-kindness meditation.

This kind of meditation has been demonstrated to take our attention beyond ourselves.

And yet also appreciate our very awakened nature in beautiful ways.

And then I will move you through a few tracking wonder prompts,

The three core practices.

So breathe easily and imagine each breath creates a sanctuary of safety in body and mind.

Remember you are possible today.

Work is love made visible.

Just take in those two truths.

I invite you to imagine that the way in which you show up for this life and this work has a presence of love and that presence of love has certain rings of impact and beneficial influence.

And imagine an innermost ring at the center of your heart space.

I invite you to imagine in that innermost ring an image of a person or a place or even an animal that at some time in your life has granted you unconditional love and to feel that energy of love right now,

Right here.

Now extend this wish and blessing to that very source of love.

You may repeat this in your mind toward that source.

May you be happy and fulfilled,

Whole and healthy.

Peaceful and free of old patterns of suffering.

Now imagine that love you have expands by a ring and invite into that space an image of yourself,

Perhaps first as a child.

And extend a wish of loving kindness to your younger self.

You may say,

May you be happy and fulfilled and really feel that.

May you be whole and healthy.

May you be peaceful.

May you be free of old patterns.

And in the next outermost ring,

See yourself as you are now and extend a wish of loving kindness to yourself.

Say to yourself and your awakened nature now,

May you be happy and fulfilled.

Just really feel that.

May you be whole and healthy.

May you be peaceful.

May you be free of old patterns.

Now imagine that love expands by a ring and invite into your heart an image of someone with whom you might at times have a difficult relationship.

Not toxic,

Not abusive,

But just one of common difficulties.

Now extend a wish of loving kindness to that person.

May you be happy and fulfilled.

Really feel that.

May you be whole and healthy.

May you be peaceful.

May you be free of old patterns.

Then imagine another ring expanding and invite into your heart space an image of someone you work with,

A teammate or colleague or client,

Maybe somebody in your working community and extend a wish of loving kindness to that person.

May you be happy and fulfilled.

Just imagine that person really experiencing that.

May you be whole and healthy.

May you be peaceful.

May you be free of old patterns.

Now invite into a final outermost ring,

An image of a stranger,

Someone you might have seen in passing or a loose connection with the person who serves you coffee or checks you out at the grocery store and extend a wish of loving kindness to that person.

May you be happy and fulfilled.

Take in how it feels to extend that wish.

May you be whole and healthy.

May you be peaceful.

May you be free of old patterns.

Just feel that openness of attention,

Love,

And kindness.

Okay,

You can keep your eyes closed or open for the next segment.

Let's move into the three core tracking wonder practices.

So let your imaginative memory take you back to a time when you were young and you felt free and alive to be your most unique self without regard for reward.

Just observe any images of where you are,

What you're doing,

And how and how you feel.

With appreciation and compassion,

Observe that young genius.

And what three adjectives describe that young genius at their best,

With their strengths fully recognized by you now?

You are that.

And center yourself and ask,

What am I devoted to today for myself?

What impactful work am I devoted to today?

And finally,

Ask yourself,

What am I curious about today?

You can record your responses to those props and shape your day well.

Remember,

You are whole in your contradictions.

You are whole in your becoming.

You are whole as you are.

You might just remember some of that as you go through your day today and through your week.
