This practice is to help you feel alive by exploring and learning to nurture the feeling of being alive.
I'm Jeff Bosworth seeking to bring a more positive and peaceful world to each individual.
The fact we're breathing,
Walking,
Talking,
Thinking,
Sure we know we're alive,
But it takes more than just those physical aspects to feel alive.
Today we're gonna look at three simple things to help you capture this feeling.
Gratitude allows you to be thankful for the good things in your life,
Setting aside goals,
Tasks,
And troubles to appreciate what you have right now.
Find a place in your busy day to just feel gratitude for everything you have.
There are so many things to be thankful for.
Your home,
A safe warm place at night with food on your table,
Family and friends,
Or the love you give and receive from your pets.
I'm sure there's a dozen things you can be thankful for.
Right now try to think of just three things to be thankful for.
Allow a smile to come to your face when you think of the abundance you have.
Now say those three things out loud.
I am thankful for.
.
.
You notice how you feel when you say it aloud?
It helps you appreciate the fact that you have so much to be thankful for.
While you may not have the best clothes,
The biggest house,
That's okay.
You're doing good.
You're here now.
You are alive.
I'm sure there were times when you didn't have this abundance.
You should be proud of yourself for the things you have and the things you have achieved.
It was no accident.
It wasn't luck.
It was you.
You worked to get where you are today and have the things you were thankful for now.
So accept this gratitude.
Living simple is another path to feeling alive.
Whether the enjoyment of preparing a meal,
Walking through a park in a place of nature,
Or sitting in your favorite place of calm,
Having a coffee or tea.
I have a bird feeder on my deck which allows me to find these moments of calm.
Another example is each morning before heading out to work,
I let the chickens and goats out to the fields.
Watching the kids running to keep up with their mommas brings me a simple joy.
Find these moments in your life.
We all have them.
What are your moments of simple joy?
Now say them aloud.
If none come to mind,
Create them.
Take the time to find these moments and nourish them.
Allow them into your daily routine and find peace in the ordinary by letting go of the clutter in your mind within a moment.
Feeling alive in each moment and find a simple enjoyment in them.
Smiling.
I often speak of letting a smile come to your face in my meditations and affirmations.
When I began practicing affirmations,
I noticed the change of my mood when guided to smile.
My thinking was,
I'm sitting there with a big goofy smile on my face.
I kind of felt silly,
But it worked.
In fact,
Science has linked smiling with increased mood-boosting hormones while at the same time decreasing stress-enhancing hormones.
So smiling can lift your spirits.
The really nice thing is that you can share that with anyone you see and they can pass it along to others,
Including right back to you.
So today I hope you found some helpful tips to feel alive by finding gratitude for all you have and all the people in your life.
Living simply by living in the moment and maybe the most effective way to feel alive is to smile.
Pass that smile along and have a great day.
