Namaste and welcome to day 2 of the level 1 course on Shiva Kundalini Sadhana.

Yesterday you learnt who Shiva is,

Why Shiva Kundalini Sadhana and how to learn effectively by altering your state of mind to Ekagra Avastha.

After that you were initiated wherein the process of awakening your Kundalini was started.

Today you will learn in detail about the different levels in Shiva Kundalini Sadhana,

The significance of Chin Mudra followed by a guided meditation practice.

As I have mentioned yesterday you can get maximum benefit out of this course by following these instructions.

First,

Keep an open mind throughout the course.

Second,

Follow the instructions that are given in the course as is.

Third,

Complete all the days of the course.

Fourth,

Practice,

Practice,

Practice.

The Course Structure I have designed and structured the course of Shiva Kundalini Sadhana in such a way that one can attain self-realization by awakening the Kundalini energy in the safest and easiest way possible.

This Sadhana has 7 levels spanning 4 important steps.

Step 1,

Awakening the dormant Kundalini energy.

Step 2,

Entering into Sushumna Nadi.

Step 3,

Activating the 7 chakras.

Step 4,

Taking the awakened Kundalini energy from Mooladhara to Sahasrara through the Sushumna Nadi.

Step 1,

In level 1 Sadhana we will focus on opening the Brahma-Rundra which is situated at the top of the head to allow cosmic energy to enter through the crown chakra and awaken the coiled up Kundalini energy seated in the root chakra.

This is the first step that sets you on to the spiritual journey to connect with the infinite.

When a child is born,

The skull at the top of the head near the center is tender.

This is the space or passage through which the cosmic energy is received and it is called Brahma-Rundra.

Rundra in Sanskrit means a passage,

With age the bone hardens and blocks us from receiving the cosmic energy.

Even though the human body is capable of receiving infinite knowledge,

When the Brahma-Rundra is blocked,

It is deprived of the cosmic intelligence and higher knowledge.

This can be compared with a smartphone without internet.

Even though a smartphone can operate without the internet,

It offers limited capability.

However,

When we are able to connect to the internet,

It opens up infinite possibilities.

Step 2,

In human body there are 72,

000 Nadi which are subtle channels that conduct intelligent life force or energy.

24 out of these are considered especially significant.

Out of the 24 Nadi's,

12 Nadi's are below the navel and 12 Nadi's are above the navel.

10 Nadi's out of these 24 are very important and they are called as Kastajiva,

Ghandari,

Pusha,

Yashaswini,

Alambusa,

Kuhu,

Shankini,

Ida,

Pingala and Susumna.

Further among these 10 Nadi's,

The Susumna,

Ida and Pingala are of prime significance.

The Susumna overall is of utmost importance.

This Susumna Nadi again has 3 Upanadi's nested concentric sub Nadi's called Vajrini,

Chitrini and Brahmanadi.

In level 2,

You will learn how to enter into the Brahmanopanadi which is the innermost channel inside the Susumna Nadi.

Step 3,

In level 3 you will learn how to awaken your Chakras.

Awakening Chakras and awakening Kundalini are two separate things.

Step 4,

That is level 4,

You will learn how to take the awakened Kundalini from root chakra to crown chakra through the Brahmanadi inside the Susumna.

In level 5,

6 and 7 you will learn to enter into Samadhi and advanced Kundalini practices.

Samadhi is the state of non-dual awareness of the self that all yogis aspire towards.

Samadhi is of Savikalpa or Sabijja,

Nirvikalpa or Nirbijja.

Savikalpa Samadhi is of two types namely Sampragnatha and Asampragnatha.

Sampragnatha Samadhi is further classified into four types.

Nirvitarka,

Savicara,

Ananda and Asmita.

Similarly Asampragnatha Samadhi also has four subdivisions.

Nirvitarka,

Nirvichara,

Ananda to Asmita and Asmita to Nirbijja.

Yoga means uniting the jivatma or individual soul or self with the paramatma or Shiva or supreme self.

In Chin Mudra we touch the index finger with our thumb.

The thumb represents paramatma,

The index finger represents jivatma,

The middle finger represents karana serir or causal body,

Ring finger represents sukshma serir or subtle body and the little finger represents the stula serir or physical body.

Hence Chin Mudra indicates the union of jivatma with paramatma by going beyond the physical subtle and causal bodies and this is why we use Chin Mudra in our practice.

Now let us learn about the Mantra.

Mantra in Sanskrit has roots from manas and tra.

Mantra means the one that liberates you from your mind because mind is a vehicle of thoughts.

Mantra is of four stages.

They are called Vaikari,

Madhyama,

Paschanti and Para.

When we recite a mantra loudly then we call it as Vaikari.

When we recite the mantra in our mind without any movement of our lips or tongue then it is called Madhyama.

In Paschanti your mind will become calm or silent and in Para you will become one with the deity associated with the mantra.

Now I will be initiating you with a mantra.

After initiation you will be reciting this mantra mentally without any movement of your lips or tongue.

You will experience Madhyama,

Paschanti or Para stages.

There is a gap or pause in between the first recitation and the second recitation.

It should be your end of the way to immerse yourself in this path.

This pause between each recitation is called Nirguna Parabrahma Chaitanya Svarupam or Shiva or Shiva Stithi.

This Nirguna Parabrahma Chaitanya Svarupam which is nothing but attributeless consciousness of the Supreme Self is always within us.

The first step is to identify the Shiva Stithi or essence then expand it by increasing the duration between each recitation then staying with the Shiva Stithi till you get a new thought.

Then whenever you get a new thought recite the mantra mentally once again and identify yourself with the Shiva Stithi.

When you are able to experience the Shiva Stithi even once then you will start experiencing deep states of relaxation,

Peace,

Calmness etc.

Let us practice the Samadhi technique.

Now we will start with the mantra initiation.

Do not try to do this practice while you are driving or operating heavy machinery.

This practice has to be done in a comfortably seated position on the ground or in a chair.

Be seated in a comfortable position.

Keep your spine,

Neck and head erect and in a straight line.

Now I am going to initiate you with the mantra and the mantra is Sivoham,

Sivoham,

Sivoham.

This mantra should be uttered as Sivoham like a C in ABC.

You should chant this mantra only in your mind.

Now mentally repeat along with me the mantra and observe the gap between the two recitations Sivoham,

Sivoham,

Sivoham,

Sivoham,

Sivoham,

Sivoham,

Sivoham Siwoham Siwoham Siwoham Siwoham Siwoham Siwoham Siwoham Siwoham Siwoham Siwoham Siwoham Now slowly rub your palms for 5 seconds till you feel the warmth in your palms and now place the palms on your eyes be like that for 10 seconds now remove your hands from your eyes and slowly open your eyes by looking into your open palm you can rub your face,

Head and body with your palms today you learnt about the different levels in Sivokundalini Sadhana significance of Chin Mudra you were initiated into Siwoham Mantra and finally experienced Sivas Tithi on day 3 we will learn the benefits of meditation I hope you learnt something new today thank you for joining me in this session today and I look forward to seeing you on day 3 Siwoham
