Hello beautiful souls,

This is June Bee and welcome to a Power Nap.

Thanks for being here for another in the series of Power Naps with June Bee.

Today we only have limited time,

20 minutes to be precise,

And need to take a quick cat nap.

So let's begin.

Let's gently drift off for this nourishing cat nap.

Get into your best relaxing position,

Making sure you are comfortable.

Close your eyes,

Relax your muscles,

And slowly imagine yourself melting into the bed.

Now let's go to your breathing,

Slowing down the heart rate,

And let's take some nourishing breaths together.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Breathe in,

Out.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Last time,

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Settle in now.

Get comfortable.

Let go of everything that happened today and let's relax together.

Let yourself focus on my voice.

If your mind wanders,

It's okay.

Bring it back to the sound of my voice.

Keep your breathing slow and steady.

So what is a cat nap?

Sometimes known as a power nap.

The shortest suggested nap time is called a cat nap,

Also known as a power nap.

This type of nap lasts anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes and works wonders for recharging your brain power.

This cat nap will boost your short and long-term memory.

A quick cat nap anywhere between 5 and 20 minutes is intended to boost alertness and productivity.

It can help you feel revitalized and more focused.

So what can help you to get into this cat nap state?

If you are at work,

In an office setting,

Accessories such as earplugs and or eye masks are great additions and can reduce disruptions during nap time.

Where possible,

Naps should be taken in a space where interruptions are unlikely to occur.

Find your place where distractions are to a minimum and close your eyes for this burst of energy when you wake up.

One study found that cat napping once or twice a week gave the benefit of lowering the risk of stroke,

Heart failure and heart attack by 48%.

Where we would love to think that our nap provides all these great benefits,

There is no doubt that a little nap a few times a week can definitely help with boosting memory and helping you to shake off those post-lunchtime blues you may get on a regular basis.

When we nap,

We go through sleep cycles.

What are sleep cycles?

A sleep cycle is when our brain transitions through each of these sleep stages throughout the night.

If you are getting a solid 7 to 9 hours of slumber,

You can count on going through all four sleep cycles.

There are four stages of sleep.

Stage one.

Stage one starts off the sleep cycle as we transition to a period between wakefulness and light sleep.

This first stage is when you are just drifting off into slumber.

If you awaken someone during this stage of sleep,

They may report that they were not asleep at all.

During stage one,

Your brain slows down,

Your heartbeat,

Your eye movements and your breathing slow with it.

Your body relaxes and your muscles may twitch.

So are you drifting off now,

Listening to my voice?

Can you feel yourself floating into a nourishing bath of joy,

Peace,

Comfort,

Bliss?

Let go now and I'll be back after you have replenished yourself.

Welcome back.

Our power nap is over.

As you open your eyes and gently come back to the room.

Let's give thanks for this time together.

Have yourself a great day and looking forward to seeing you again soon for another in the series of power naps with June B.

Goodbye.
