So taking a posture that's workable and sustainable.
Connecting with the breath in the body.
Opening to the comings and goings of sound.
Sounds outside the room.
Sounds inside the room.
For the purpose of this meditation,
There's nothing worth thinking.
For the purpose of this meditation,
There's nothing worth thinking.
As we train the mind,
As we increase concentration and mindfulness,
We need to rebel against the mind's tendency to do whatever the hell it wants.
So breathing in.
Know that we're breathing in.
Breathing out.
Know that we're breathing out.
And this sense of rebellion against the mind in the stories that we get caught in,
Trapped in.
We're going to rebel there.
We're going to rebel against the mind's tendency to do whatever the hell it wants.
We're going to rebel against the mind's tendency to do whatever the hell it wants.
We're going to rebel against the mind's tendency to do whatever the hell it wants.
We're going to rebel against the mind's tendency to do whatever the hell it wants.
We're going to rebel against the mind's tendency to do whatever the hell it wants.
We're going to rebel against the mind's tendency to do whatever the hell it wants.
We're going to rebel against the mind's tendency to do whatever the hell it wants.
Whenever we recognize that the attention has wandered off,
Or that there's a compelling story or sound or sensation,
We're just going to say,
Not now.
Not now.
And aim the attention back.
This sitting,
Breathing body.
This present time awareness.
Again and again.
We do this practice to strengthen our mindfulness,
To soften the heart,
To liberate this heart-mind.
And in order to do this,
We need to see clearly the patterns,
The habits,
And rebel against them.
This is the rebellious nature of the Buddha's teaching.
This is the going against the stream of greed,
Hatred,
And delusion.
And we're doing this one breath at a time.
