Hello and welcome to this mantra meditation.
For this meditation we will be doing a mala of 108 Om Mani Padme Ham.
So this mantra we're going to be using has a few translations but a widely accepted translation is I am the jewel and the lotus flower.
Om being the universal mantra Mani Padme Ham.
And before we start this mantra just thinking about the meaning I am the jewel and the lotus flower.
I like to think about the journey that a lotus has to go through before it can flower.
A lotus starts as a bulb and this bulb is rooted deep in the muck in a pond and it has to work its way through the muck,
Through the darkness getting around all kinds of obstacles before it finally breaks the surface of the water where it can finally see the light and eventually blossom into that beautiful flower that we know.
It feels like that's what a lot of us have to go through in our lives.
We feel like we are always fighting through the muck and so this idea of I am the jewel and the lotus flower I think it refers to the essence of that flower even in that bulb even as it goes through its journey that flower is always in there it has the capacity to be a flower it just needs that little bit of extra push to get to the light.
So you can keep that feeling you can keep that idea of that journey in mind as we go through 108 Om Mani Padme Ham.
So you can hear me do this and say it in your head or you can join me for this as well even if the pronunciation isn't spot on in the beginning it's more about your intention.
I'm going to take a big breath in and then let it out fully then inhale the chant.

If you were saying the mantra,
Maybe you still feel it in your mouth.
And then slowly bring your awareness back into your body,
Back into the room that you're in.
You can slowly start to blink,
Open your eyes,
Letting in a little bit more light with each blink.
And then take in the space around you.
Notice if it feels different after doing that meditation.
Thank you for joining me today.
Namaste.
