I am luminous.
I am luminous.
Hello and welcome.
Thank you for being here today.
And most importantly,
Thank yourself for being here today.
My name is Jasmine.
I'm a mindfulness meditation teacher.
And this is mindfulness and challenging times,
Part four.
I give in to my infinite being.
I am luminous.
You are resilient.
You can grow even in the places that don't water you,
Because you know which direction the sun rises.
You are your own miracles.
Right now is the moment for your own awakening.
To find the light that you thought you had lost.
But darling,
I promise you it is never too far.
You are never too far from right here.
And even in the midst of turning a fresh page to this new chapter,
My hope is you've learned that you didn't come here just to wish to be somewhere else.
Once we stop craving for things to happen a certain way,
We're able to transcend our attachments,
Soften our resistance,
And allow everything to flow our way with ease.
The path was never a straight line,
But rather a continuous moment to moment,
Now to right now experience that you can always come back to and see deeper truths.
Find deeper joys and discover a peace in the present that surpasses any logic or equation.
You were never made to be understood,
But felt.
Your spirit can't be tamed.
You are luminous.
It might surprise you to hear,
But mindfulness meditation is not about trying to change who you are.
It's about tuning into your innate worthiness,
Your innate rhythm,
Your innate state of being,
And your innate creativity,
Which is always available to you.
Mindfulness meditation teacher Pema Chodron often says,
We don't sit in meditation to become good meditators.
We sit in meditation so that we'll be more awake in our lives.
That is why we are here.
Not to zone out or alter every experience or chase a never ending bliss trip that we can't and will never be able to hold on to.
We are here to become more awake to the full experience of everyday life.
Your practice invites you to open up and notice spaciousness in every moment.
The raw and honest truth is no one is coming to save you.
But you are the vessel you seek for your own healing.
Through mindfulness meditation,
We can train ourselves to be more accepting,
Kinder,
And show more compassion to ourselves and others during the wild and crazy arc of our own life experiences.
And to help us navigate challenging times.
And it's always with you.
It's a practice that not only benefits you,
But how you interact with the world,
With those that you love,
And how you interact with your own luminosity.
You have grown so much.
You have reached the mountaintop.
Which I hope you now know is wherever you are.
Mindfulness meditation,
This practice,
Your practice is about tuning into the present moment.
And doing the real illuminating work to heal,
To grow,
And to discover your own truth and your own authentic power.
Now,
Let's begin.
Take your seat.
Firmly planted and rooted,
You are strong.
Feel the support of the ground beneath you.
Hip bones raised slightly above the knees,
If you're seated on a cushion.
And feet planted firmly on the ground,
If seated on a chair.
Palms face down,
Rested either on your knees,
Or the middle of your thighs.
And just imagine a long string starting at the base of your spine,
And going all the way up through the crown of your head.
Hold a tall,
Dignified position,
And maintain an open gaze about four to six feet in front of you.
Holding an upright,
But not uptight position.
Your chin is parallel to the floor,
Shoulders relaxed.
And letting go of wherever else there is tension in your body.
Make room.
And now,
Place your attention on your breath.
With a soft,
Downward,
And open gaze,
Simply notice the rising and the falling of your breath.
A light touch.
Gently place your attention here as you sit.
Your breath will always lead you home to the present moment.
And as thoughts,
Emotions,
Feelings,
Or sensations arise,
We label them all the same.
Thinking.
And place our attention back on the breath.
Let's begin.
Let's begin.
You are luminous.
At any moment,
You can touch into the good heart that you already have and nurture it.
Notice it.
Show it gratitude for always living inside of you,
Even when you couldn't see it.
Let's begin.
You are luminous.
When you open yourself to the continually changing and permanent dynamic nature of your own being,
And reality,
You increase your capacity to love.
I invite you to notice when you get caught up in self-aggression,
Bias,
Hatred,
Or negativity,
And stop watering it,
We grow what we pay attention to.
Begin to think of your life as offering endless opportunities to start to do things differently and tune in to your light.
I am luminous.
I am luminous.
I am luminous.
I am luminous.
I am luminous.
I am luminous.
I am luminous.
I am luminous.
I am luminous.
