Welcome to day 3 of soul sustenance.
Life is a continuous chain of scenes.
Many of us tend to get emotionally attached to certain situations and people.
Our attachments lead us to create emotions of joy,
Sorrow or distress.
We believe it is normal to experience pain when we witness an accident or to cry when watching an emotionally stimulating scene on TV.
Even as children we were taught that shades of joy and sorrow are part of our life.
We experienced several joyful and painful emotions.
We jumped in joy when we topped in an exam.
We cried in helplessness when our sibling fell ill.
We became upset whenever we were not allowed to watch our favourite TV show.
Everyone around us also created similar emotions.
So we felt it is natural.
Let us pause and ask,
I have been riding this emotional rollercoaster continuously since childhood.
Can I now free myself from it?
We mostly look at life's scenes with an attitude of either receiving or taking from them.
When we take our emotions from the scene we then realise that our emotion is dependent on the scene.
The entire day is filled with pleasant and some unpleasant scenes and therefore the emotions we experience are also of different qualities.
It is not the up and down of scenes but the up and down of emotions which make us emotionally weak.
Let us start giving to scenes our qualities of peace,
Love and stability.
Scenes may be chaotic but our life will not be a rollercoaster because our emotions will not go up and down.
We will be happy,
Light and contented because of emotional strength.
Emotional detachment helps us to bring about this emotional strength.
If someone has behaved badly an attached soul will get hurt.
A detached soul will empathise.
When our emotions fluctuate a lot we are not stable and happy always.
So let us shift our consciousness by accepting that being over emotional depletes energy and we need to be stable.
In today's meditation we will create a positive affirmation to help us detach from our emotions.
Slow your breath down as you allow all the muscles in your body to relax.
Feel the inner stillness as you take yourself to a space of total calm.
Now take yourself to a scene in your life when you felt true love.
Think of how you saw this person,
How you interacted and spoke to them.
Even in moments of chaos you found that you were still able to emerge that true love to go even beyond.
So we see that we all have this pureness within us and in order to emerge it we need to become detached observers of the self.
So take yourself upwards as if you are going up a stairway with no pull of gravity till you come to a place so far away from the sound and sights of this physical world.
Now visualize the scenes of the world below like an observer watching a movie.
Watch the various scenes of your life pass by without getting caught up in the emotions.
Just observe.
Now ask yourself what does my heart really yearn for?
What do I really want?
Every scene enacted comes from a place where we are truly wanting to be.
So once again ask yourself what does my heart really yearn for?
As the scenes of your life fly by you become more aware of the deep feeling within your soul.
Now imagine yourself going upwards to an even higher place of such silence where all you see around you is light.
Feeling totally light like a feather.
At this point you affirm to yourself.
I am a pure and powerful being.
I am a pure and powerful being.
Happiness and love is my nature.
Happiness and love is my nature.
I do not seek it from anything or anyone.
I do not seek it from anything or anyone.
It is my quality and I give it to everyone.
It is my quality and I give it to everyone.
I am stable and my inner feelings are independent of the scenes around me.
I am stable and my inner feelings are independent of the scenes around me.
I am not dependent on people's behavior.
I am not dependent on people's behavior.
I give love and respect to all always.
I give love and respect to all always.
As you soak up these words and feelings into your soul you enjoy this space for a little while longer.
It is now time to return to the world of sound.
Slowly I descend back and return to the consciousness of the body and my surroundings.
Om Shanti.
